Damn right. Awesome music, the S&M stuff. I wish they had done Fade To Black with it though, the orchestra really could had added something to that song to take it from incredible to amazing.

I'm gonna have to watch my metallica DVD's when I get home; Binge and Purge is awesome, I love the 1989 concert, specialy when they did Master of Puppetz.

R.I.P! :(

In my honest opinion music is going further and further downhill these days, with every generic indie band with the prefix 'The' in their name singing about wearing jeans and new shoes, instead of the good old days when bands sung about guys who had lost most of their senses and use of most of their body. (Name the song).

I love Metallica in all forms especially S&M, I get vaguely aroused whilst listening to it, especially 'One' and 'Battery', simply eargasmic stuff. A mate of mine caught Het's wristband when he flung it out into the crowd. Suffice to say I've fallen out with said mate, lucky *******.

These days I'm more into my Rammstein, though my musical taste varies, I also like The Jam and Children of Bodom, and don't say no to a spot of classical. Reading & Leeds Fest + Download has become a joke in my eyes.

Oh well, least I've got my MP3 player to get me through the day :D

Terribly run event, mind, no need at all for the segregation since so few folk actually turned up, but they didn't have the wits to adapt to the situation... Still, I got in, because I'd been burned by the same farce at Donington the year before. Not often you get this close to Metallica these days:

Say what you like about the new albums- and I reckon S&M's utter genius- but they're still great live.

Bullet For My Valentine, incidentally, are what you get if you take a Metallica and Machine Head covers band and ban them from playing any covers. Dismal stuff, fairly skilled but no imagination or inspiration at all, just a bunch of walking cliches. IMO :)

You lucky git getting that close to the front! We were somewhere about the middle edgeing towards the back, a friend of ours showed up with :smt033 so we where all very happy at our wee bit:) Did get to meet bruce dickenson on the 2nd night, he was at the beer tent:thumright: . Was very poorly organised though would have been even better if they had held it at the weekend.

It was a total farce in fact, not quite as bad as Donington the year before, where they hadn't finished building the site, that was just plain dangerous... But the barrier was a joke, it was practically empty too creating a huge gap. I'd have been raging if we'd not got down the front. (at Donington we didn't get down the front, in fact, but that was OK since most of the bands I wanted to see were in the shed)

I don't think they had much choice about putting it on a week day though, they were juggling the Ireland date too weren't they? The attendance was dismal though, Gig on the Green completely sold out in 2001, 30000 people per day. If they're going to try and do a glasgow festival they should stick it on the same weekend as an english one and rotate the acts, like Leeds/Reading- worked a charm at GotG. And the barrier system they used then saved lives, I've no doubt at all, during Eminem- the barriers they used at Download would probably have made the crushes worse with 30000 people.

Still annoyed about the barriers though :)

ATTENTION UK and Irish fans

22 April 2007, 16:18:37 | alex

We want to let you all know that we have no concerts scheduled in 2007 for anywhere in the UK or Ireland. Any announcement stating otherwise is a mistake. Please do not buy tickets to any of the concerts in the UK or Ireland that may have been announced. We are sorry that somebody has announced shows that are in fact not happening, and we are currently working hard to determine how and why this happened.

Looks like you'll need to settle for The Haunted, Krisiun, Zyklon and Acker****e this month instead...

Cheers for that. Weird?

Still kinda sad as seeing a band of that class in a wee room would be an experience and then some. Ah weel. Heading to Barcelona for the gp and missing by a week Slayer, Bad Brains and SonicYouth(Daydream Nation only) Smashing Pumpkins all playing there . 2 huge eclectic music festivals (Primavera and Tryptych) either side of the GP:thumbdown:

Last Death Metal band I bought was probably Death "Scream Bloody Gore" and the follow up to that(?).......... so not heard those bands ye mentioned. ;) 8-[

...............but "MY SPACE" is a wonderful thing!
