he's got a shed load to carry too, besides you've got to have room to bring at least a whole crate of pineau back with you

Sometimes i use both when i go away for a week or so. You can get alot in a tailpack and it's safe enough on the back strapped on properly. If i use my tank bag and it's full i use it to lean on when on long journeys, helps me rest my arms :rolleyes:. The only trouble i find is getting on and off SV with tailpack on, so in a way the tank bag is easier to use!
