I ride a Daytona 955i SE and a pointy SV650, do you think I care about what a bike looks like?? If you're riding properly you never see the styling, so it doesn't matter what it looks like.

Because I live in the real world, where there's traffic and similar mobile chicanes. Riding above 6K revs isn't possible half the time round here, so a bike that has a little bit of torque and power at lower revs is more than useful.

Besides, I was brought up with a modicum of mechanical sympathy and respect for the people around me too, so screaming around in lower gears with 11K showing on the tacho and 50mph on the speedo seems pretty damned stupid to me. Give me the ability to trundle at almost zero revs in 4th and then pull smoothly and quickly to the redline any day. I gave up playing tunes on the gear lever just to get the bike moving when I sold my last 350LC

Plus lets not pretend that looks arn't a factor, essentially we are all rather vain. Bikes...women...it matters not!

Haha, I was having a pop at those bikes that spend more time being polished and admired in the garage than being ridden, and those riders who think the roads are racetracks and that they are some kind of riding god, until they find themselves being lapped twice a session by a Bandit 600 on a trackday.

I know a whole bunch of Gixer 750/1000 riders like that, they went home with their tails between their legs. We neglected to tell them that the bloke on the borrowed 75K mile Bandit, in 2-piece leathers, regularly races his Gixer 600 in the Manx and endurance events.

You never met the ex-Mrs Lozzo - she was a babe when I met her. Last I saw of her she was playing the lead role in the film 'Babe'.

She was on the Lamborghini diet - 10-15 stone in 5 years.
