My oh my!!! Left the door wide open on that one for a few jokes but I'll resist. :-#

Perhaps it's ginger thing??
While there are far less gingers where I live, nearly all that I know (females) deffinately have that tomboy side.

Mr LPH did it and he's 50% female! But then he does have more face cream than me.

My smile of the day, (OK yesterday)
Potato soup.
After a second round of flu in two weeks Thursday I was back at work on Friday but unable to eat much.
Arrived home and the wife asked if I was hungry, I said yes but can't find anything that I can eat.
She was on the phone with a mate who suggested potato soup and gave her the recipe.
In no time she whipped up some delicious soup like Mum used to make, only better.
In fact was the best potato soup I' ve ever hsd on her first attempt. That girl can cook!
Thinking of pretending to still be ill this evening. Maybe she'll make some more!

now THAT's a proper smile moment, when you're feeling rough the happiness of any relief is rarely matched by anything else :)

Glad you're feeling a bit better too!

Kinda mean that the back seat people don't get heating (on mine).
But I'd rather have my front screen heater than less groans from the back lol

I bought my wife a car with heated seats but so far it hasn't made her bum look any hotter.

My usb powered Christmas tree!
Nothing like the look on an employees face when the boss asks how they like something they find hideous.
It takes them all about two seconds to answer. ROFL

And the fact that no one else except me likes it makes me like it all the more. ;)

The munchkin went back to school today, less than two weeks after her jaw surgery. The grumpy teenager has returned (she is NOT a morning person) but I'm just pleased she's well on the mend.

Seeing the 6'2" tall bricklayer that is Mr LPH get into bed last night, slather my very expensive Elemis hand cream onto his hands and then put on white cotton gloves to help the cream absorb overnight. He looked like a metrosexual comedy mime artist. Blokes these days eh?

Going to the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition at the Natural History Museum with a fellow orger on a non-weekend, non-school holiday day so it was quiet enough to properly enjoy it. And the tickets were a freebie from a photographer friend. :D

Stunning images as always.

Having had a day which started with a flat car battery, being cancelled for court at the last minute and then getting a horrid case to work on at work then going home via the atm for it to swallow my bank card, thinking id had an awful day... Then opening my mail to a lovely xmas card from a dear friend truly made my day! And the comments inside really made me smile... Wiped out all the rubbish of the day :) thanks to having lovely friends :)

Despite feeling as ill as I've ever felt and having to call in sick, I'm ever so chuffed with this: Panettone bread and butter pudding with 70% dark chocolate pieces and marmalade marbling!
Shame I can't even contemplate a taster!

I made a wicked tea as well! Pasta bolognese with a noma sauce rather than the traditional ragu. Great pasta from Italy, local organic minced steak, home made sourdough bread. One small bowl and I was done.

Yep, know exactly how you're feeling right now, I had this a couple of months ago :(

I had to get some anti bioptics before I got rid of it for good

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?

Putting my 10 month old grandson to sleep.

We have a special bond that I believe came from when he was in the hospital awaiting a heart transplant earlier this year.

It was three weeks before he could be held and at that time even visiting him might be limited to 2 or 3 15 minute periods
sometime during a 24 hour period, that includes parents.
I happened to be there the first day they would let him be held.
My son had just held him for about five mins. for the very first time when I arrived.
We got suited up (the entire surgeons kit) and went back to see him.
He held him again for about 10 mins. His Mum was afraid to hold him as he was quite tiny,
breathing on the ventelator and had about 100 wires and tubes hooking him to a dozen or so machines
and 2 IV's so holding him was a bit daunting, so's she lets me be next.
He wiggled around a bit till he got comfortable and then snuggled up against me and layed his head on my chest.
I told my son look he's listening to my heart beat.
My son leaves and goes to find my wife (who had gone to take some things to their apartment) so she could hold him
and I was left alone holding him for about 15 mins. when the nurse returned and told me time was up. But he had fallen asleep
so I convinced the nurse it would be less stressful to let him sleep rather than to wake him up just to put him back in the bed.
She said "he looks like he's resting comfortably I'll give you a while longer" which ended up being another 30 mins.
When he woke up on his own she put him back in the bed.

The wife missed out but she like his Mum was afraid the first few days to hold him, he was quite pitiful at the time,
hooked to all that stuff, his little heart beating double time and gasping for every breath even on the venelator.
But none of that seemed to bother me I was comfortable holding him no matter what.
A few weeks later he had the transplant and was what the Docs say was one of the quickest recoveries ever.
He still has to take medicine but to look at him now you'd never know he wasn't just another healthy child.

Now he reaches for me to take him whenever he see's me.
When no one else can calm him down, all I have to do I hold him.
He spends the nights here often on the weekends, like this one.
He loves watching animated Christmas movies and when he's tired he wants to sit in my lap and watch them.
He'll watch for a while and when he's ready to go to sleep, he lays his head on my chest and listens to my heart beat.

I really love being with him and putting him to sleep is the icing on the cake!

That is my smile of the day, of the year, and maybe more.
:D
