i used this method for the curvy. nice being able to recycle some of the bits u cut off. took maybe an hour (with tool searching, tea and fag breaks). looks and works a treat with a mini indo's and a smallish plate ;)

so tonight, i put that into the bath and gave it a thorough good cleaning, and grabbed a sheet of 1mm galvanised steel and cut up my template, and hacked the o.e tray apart too... think i'll get this put together and fitted up on saturday, and i'll paint it sometime in the future :)

i'll probably use a single LED for the numberplate light

ok, well i built and fitted this all up :) i let the g/f do the paint spraying to help her feel useful. right rough job but i just assured her that it would be under the bike and wouldnt be seen... i'll re-do it when she's not looking ;)

i used a 'ADJUSTABLE RRSEND' bracket - it comes complete with a hinge fitting, so it can be easily mounted to the flat surface and i can adjust the angle that the plate sits at. this was £20 delivered from ebay. i used 3 bolts to hold this in place, and also drilled an extra hole through for the purpose of passing the indicator wiring through.

as planned, i used a single white LED bolt for the plate light, mounted centrally and about 4 inches rearwards of the plate mount.

the only problem i encountered, was the fact that the right side seat panel is broken so there is no bolt hole on that side, so i drilled a hole into the panel and cable tied that side for now. on the left side panel, i used a RIVNUT on the panel lug so i could bolt into it. This worked very nicely.

I did take some pic's whilst building it up, but to be honest, there the same as all the other pics.

the only change i'd make, is that i would probably put some black rubber 'screen trim' around the edge just to tidy it all up, so i may do this at some point if i can be a**ed, or if i take it off to re-paint.

the rrsend bracket is quite wide. a 9x7 plate is fine, and an 8x6 plate is fine. but i use a 7x5 plate and the bracket is just slightly wider than the plate. As i'm a plate maker, i can just make myself another plate ;) but i might look into chopping the rrsend down a fraction.

total costs:
metal 1mm galvanised steel £5 homebase
rrsend adjustable £20 ebay
led bolt pair £2.50 (only used one)
indicators £15 (mine were broke anyway so had to get them)
blades for jigsaw £6 pack of 3 (only used one)
about 5 hours alltogether (had to refit original undertray and remove broken non standard one)
