Agreed, you don't need those for off roading. A road bike does it just as well, i've done partial off roading on the SV and a few fords. It is the kind of stuff that makes a rideout much more interesting!

We did bimble about on the south downs first. Not through choice. Stu just kept misreading the sat nav.

In all seriousness, the first version of the route was about 50% off road. No more than a foot of useable Tarmac available at any one time. We've now reduced that to 45% so we're not completely taking the ****.
