why would I want to, as I said in my previous posts, each to their own

I think we are all adult enough to make our own minds up without imposing personal views on others and labelling them stupid, that was my point, nothing else.

easy fellas!

everyone is entilted to wear what they like, personally, after seeing my mates injuries i would'nt ride in a t-shirt, i do and have rode in jeans, but i always have a jacket on and gloves etc... its all well and good saying that you take extra care when dressed in say lighter clothing , BUT you dont control others actions, ****e happens...

i mean lets face it you come off on a public road at speed it dont matter what your wearing..because 9 times out of 10 your dead anyway...

i wear leathers etc to be as safe as i can be, i'd rather sweat than bleed....

in summer, i remove the thermal lining on my jacket (has built in armour)... however.
I dont tuck my jacket sleeves into my gloves, this means i get cool air blowing up my sleeves and down my back... which feels dandy. Beats wearing t shirts and jeans anyday.

Also, my mate's dad was riding with just a t shirt on and he got hit by a wasp and it made a rather nasty hole in his chest. was like being shot at.

I've heard stories where people have been hit by seagulls...

sorry thats made me laugh!

Would the seagulls have not hit them if they had been in leathers ;)

Maybe they thought the biker was on the way to the beach and thought " I'll stop that bast*rd right now"

I'm not sure what your definition of speed is, but a 90% fatality rate is surely rubbish! I know/have heard about people who have crashed going fast and most of them are still around.

Also at speed it matters far more what you are wearing. If i know i'm going to be riding fast and pushing my limits, then its leathers all the way.

yeah fair enough a bit exaggerated i admit but you know what i mean, 50-60mph+ in built up areas can be lethal:shock:, some bikes are that quick these days its easily done.

its whether you hit anything or not, been hearing a lot of bad stories lately:(, sorry to be so glum.:(

yeah i agree with ya there, i wouldnt go out ofr a counry blast in jeans, leathers all teh way:smt045

Personally don't ride without my gear on but was interested to see the Spanish bike cops last year - they only kind of protection they had was boots and open face helmets. Short sleeved shirts, no gloves, trousers and no jackets - didn't seem to bother them and it didn't bother me that they were attired like that.

Country ride yes, country blast no. Riding in jeans makes you feel vulnerable and does wonders for killing speed, reducing lean angles and sharpening your observation.
