Well you can see in the pic below the CV carb. What youll want to do is take the reservoir off, thats the bit at the mottom that the jet sits in. Once you take these off empty them off (see if water has made it in there :S) and have a good check to make sure there is no **** in there, or in the jets.

If there is nothing obvious in there then open the top up. What youll find is a rubber diaphram with a spring underneath with a piston on the other end which holds the jet needle. Make sure the rubber is ok and that the mechanism moves ok. Give everything in there a general clean up to make sure there isnt any crap where it shouldn't be.

Once you have done this put them back on the bike. You might want to ballance the carbs. For this youll need some vacuum guages... If you get this far then ask and someone can give you a quick talk through. the idea is simple but it can be difficult to make work :(.

Hope this helps mate.

Never tried it on a bike, does the trick in carbyd cars though, was thinking bout half a pint in a tank of fuel will let the water burn off.

I'm guessing it'll clear it, but still worth getting the carbs off and clean and install an inline fuel filter.

Like Matt has just said to me on MSN, could it possibly corrode the piping?

Please don't say only one way to find out

Last I checked, alcohol isn't corrosive, and rubber doesn't corrode :-P

I would give it a go, whether you chance it or not is your choice

Methanol munches through the fuel pipe all at once spilling 3 gallons of unleaded over a hot engine and exploding in a mahooosive but quite spectacular fireball.
