Re: First pillion
Well my gf loved our weekend away. She did two 6+ hour pillion rides as well (including her first ever sit on a bike seat!) That's what I call jumping in the deep end ;)
Looks like I'll be fighting to have the bike to myself too! |

Whats worse anyway, attached behind you or sliding down the road on thier own? In some circumstances you could crush them, in others you could actually soften an impact for them. |

Anyway I feel we digress from the OP, but just my thoughts. I apologise if I've just made parents cringe  |
Re: First pillion
Just fatten the kids up. They may break your fall.

I agree, but if you did separate on leaving the bike and the kiddie got killed hitting a lampost, whereas you did not, you'd wish they had stayed close to you and broken a few bones. It's a bad situation whichever way you cut it. Anyway you spend many more miles upright than sliding down the road we hope, so a bit of extra safety for the kiddie when upright has to be a good thing. Still haven't decided what age my son will get on the bike, but seeing that little girl at Willingham woods with that strap made me think it may a be a few years before I had initally envisaged. |
