i agree, my problem is people saying it like they have done it and know ,not well i googled it and here are the results ive got

Bullocks, to research and use google proper takes a degree of skill, a lot of people will just type the question they have in, and press search.

not wrong but i would say time and patiants not skill

Isee your point, although they may get there in the end, if they took the time to learn how google works and then uses some of the operators id say they have acquired a skill. Knowing which sites a good from experience and how to skim/speed read also helps.

A useful link to get the best out of google.

How about if they use a different search engine ;););););)

when I first joined this site , I read a lot of technical stuff about the SV before I ever bought one , it was a good source of letting me know the potential faults with the bike . I never even posted until I knew I was actually getting one . Some people stood out to me as being knowledgeable and trustworthy in their opinions . Those being YC , Jambo , Sid Squid , Rictus and even DD . Those guys set off something in my mind that was to provide concise and spot-on information that hits the nail on the head . What I cannot stand in a Tech reply is derailing with stupid answers or complete misinformation ..... so what I was getting at was for those with problems , it really pays to take a good read of the forum , don`t panic and dig through . I spent whole evenings and many cups of Coffee just reading through various problems , Sad I know but I wanted to know If I was going to buy a right Donkey of a bike or not and also if my bike had ever been featured on here with a problem ....... it`s funny how certain bikes became well known in SV circles and had "Avoid" written all over them ;)

Spelling , some people will do a search on "Clutch" and you might do a search on "Cluch" . The search function is only as good as the info it looks for and if that is put in a different manner to the way an article is written , then it`s a no go .

Well if people can't grasp the queens english, use a spell check function or even use the old fashioned route of a dictionary  then they shouldn't be allowed on the web yet alone hold a driving licence ;)

Cuffy , it`s just one of those things that happens dude , I ain`t singling anyone out for spelling issues and I can understand what they are getting at quite easily . Some people out there can`t help it due to Dyslexia and I`m not gonna go on about that or champion their cases and this is down to one simple fact .........

..... I love people that can`t spell on eBay , they save me thousands of pounds by advertising things wrongly , not politically correct but each to their own :)

I'll let you into a little secret Pete, as long as you promise not to tell everyone... My Mrs is a GP and she occasionally gets a patient with some unusual symptoms that might fall into various diagnosis. She tells them she'll have to run a couple of tests and asks them to take a seat in the waiting room. She then goes on the Doctors Net which is like a big doctors chat room/forum and posts up the symptoms and her thoughts. She's guaranteed within 30 minutes (during which she'll have seen a couple of other patients) to have several replies, often from retired consultants and such like, with all kinds of useful advice. Never let her down yet! Medicine is a complicated world and definitely not an exact science, it just cuts down on the "tried that, what shall we do next" syndrome so often found in medicine.
So next time your doctor tells you to take a seat be worried...

Infraction? Not from me, congratulations more like.

I'd also add this:

Don't rip off others posts and slightly re-write them, thus claiming them as your own.

You know who you are. No, I'm not going to name names, it's not my intention to start a row, I just want it to stop.

I've suggested a sticky in T+T gently reminding people how to properly use the search function and google to find what you want.

Notably the search on here doesn't include loads of useful terms. Like TPS, TRE etc

Wheras if you put into google "TPS adjustment site:forums.sv650.org" hey presto it's found.
