Re: How to check choke plungers?

I've read it all through again and it sounds like a fueling or choke problem. If it were me I'd take the tank off and take a look at the carbs, see if there is anything obvious there, chuck some carb cleaner through it, grease the choke plungers and take it from there...

Fizzwheel- I'm not sure, I haven't taken it apart yet. Unless there is some obvious easy remedy (such as a change of exhaust) Ill do it now, but otherwise the plan is to wait until February, when exams are over, and I can do the whole thing in daylight.

Squirrel_hunter - Yes! That would be amazing! But I don't want to waste your time. Ill take it apart after exams, and if I cant figure it out, then, maybe? And hopefully the weather will be slightly nicer by some point, so we can go for a Swindon ride! (Oh.."fun"...)

It wouldn't be a waste of my time.

If you don't want to wait until February, I'm free tomorrow. The offers there, just drop me a pm.

Squirrel_hunter came over, it was heaven to have somebody who knows something about bikes around! But of course, it worked perfectly now that someone was there, I knew it would! Sod's law. We still opened it up through, all looks nice and clean. We couldn't get the choke plunder's screws out, but squirrel think's they'd be fine judging by how clean the rest of the bike is, and it worked perfectly when he tried it. Might have just been me being paranoid. but the Sensai taught me some! Very thankful!!!

You can grease the splitter without taking plungers out to head off most problems. I would advise this

does sond a bit like only firing on one cyclinder, and as the problem had cleared up by itself. maybe the front plug got damp (as they tend to) and then dried out. It is a problem, although you have a fenda extenda, which cures most of the issues.

Had you washed it recently?

Yorkie - What's a "splitter"

Maviczap - Yeah, some time ago, but i've ridden in the rain quite a bit so it may well be damp. Do you mean the front spark plug? Where is it again?

The black rectangle cable splitter pictured in the earlier pages, read back through them.

Follow the front exhaust and have a look behind the raidiator. The plug cap is not easy to get at, but a squirt with some WD40 will work wonders. Plus a little vasaline under the plug cap sealing grommet will also help
