Not entirely. My initial post was about justifying the outlay when I really didn't think I would win the auction. I was so convinced I'd be outid and it would go for more that I went out that afternoon and blew a wad on new textile bike kit. I got caught out and won the auction as well, so had to pay a huge amount out yesterday, more than I really wanted to.

Ok, so I think I got a bargain, but others think it's an obscene amount of money. Trying to justify it to them is a waste of time because they'll never understand, but others don't have a problem with someone buying a Porsche 911 when a VW Polo would suffice.

It's not about the money, it's about the timing and how I got it wrong. I don't regret buying the box or the new bike kit, I just wish I could have spread the cost a bit.
