Re: Loss of Power and cutting out!
Doesn't look like its to do with the plug. I'm a bit scared to ask cos there was swearing and a quote of "what ..... eyed idiot thought it would be a good idea to put that there".
Getting new plugs and new HD lead but other than that I don't know. I have asked that Chris join the forum and chat directly but he is unconvinced at the moment. Hopefully he will though. |

Re: Loss of Power and cutting out!
Have to dry clean them every 15000 miles though :(

Re: Loss of Power and cutting out!
alright, alright!! Move along please, stop highlighting my stupidity.
Back to the bike, it has now got new plugs on it and still no good. It's better in the sense that it runs fine above about 1.5k revs. On tick over and just above it only runs on one cylinder?????? Maybe a fuelling problem?????? |
Re: Loss of Power and cutting out!
OK, feeling guilty, so being serious now.
Is yours a curvy? if so drain the float bowls of the carbs. I had to do it on my other bike, that was cutting out on me. It would start but not run. But then I knew I had put some suspect petrol it it previously. 8-[ I had to drain it twice as after the first it improved but cut out again. after that it was fine. Obviously a pointy could suffer the same but don't know how you can drain the very bottom of the system? edit: bugg@r, just read your sig. :( |
Re: Loss of Power and cutting out!
It's a pointy!!!!
|
Re: Loss of Power and cutting out!
yeah, I'm sure the principle is the same, just not sure how to achieve draining of any water or rubbish at the bottom of the fuel system.

Re: Loss of Power and cutting out!
Did you say he's checked the front plug is sparking?
Could be fuelling I guess nothing stupid like a throttle cable's snapped? (or would that mean it was open all the time ) |
