Re: Manchester Xmas markets drinking session
I went to the Markets on Saturday.
The beer is £3.50 a pint with a £2 deposit per glass. Gluwein the same price. Hot spiced cider is £3 and a £2 deposit. Busy as ever, same huge BBQ's! Pete ;) |
Re: Manchester Xmas markets drinking session
So what is the overall plan - I'd forgotten about it up until today, so I've done absolutely no planning or anything.

Re: Manchester Xmas markets drinking session
What time do people want to meet at the Salisbury then?
Oh, and for anyone who doesnt know where it is, it's just down the steps from Oxford Rd train station in Manchester. :D |
Re: Manchester Xmas markets drinking session
Have a barrel for me. I will have to console myself watching Wolves getting battered in the freezing cold of Ewood.

Re: Manchester Xmas markets drinking session
Hope to travel down on Friday as early as poss, then try out the city centre befor kip. Anybody live near or travel daily over the top on the M62. With the snow don't know if to take A1/M62 or A69/M6

Re: Manchester Xmas markets drinking session
I think if you're crossing the pennines, you're probably going to struggle either way.
I'm tempted to say I'm out of this one, as trains aren't currently running Sheffield to Manchester. |
Re: Manchester Xmas markets drinking session
Fair point about the trains Orose, the weather's not really playing fair for this is it?
I'm going to head for the Salisbury for 3pm so I'll see everyone there hopefully. If people can't make it cos of the weather etc, no worries. Anyone who hasnt met me & wants to know what I look like - see the photos toward the end of last year's thread, I'm the one 'posing' (if you can call it that lol!) with MissYC and a statue. :D |
Re: Manchester Xmas markets drinking session
Unless theres a mega thaw that doesn't result in Derbyshire disappearing underwater for a month, I think I'm out - they've totally stopped trains from here to Manchester now, and it's unlikely that the roads will be open south of the M62 either.
