Really? I never had that problem with my 955i, it always felt very well planted on the road and it just used to accelerate when I pinned it and hurl me at the horizon very very quickly .

But I do agree they are stupidly quick but dont really feel like youre ragging it as theyre so smooth

Yes, lifts the front wheel under power quite easily, you'd be silly to use big throttle in first gear I short shift into second then pile on the throttle, second needs weight over the front at full throttle to keep it down, third it goes light on the steering and maybe lifts by an inch or two at peak power, and I haven't used peak power in fourth as I don't have access to a runway

The Fazer 1000 I test rode was the same. Are you heavier than me (currently 15st 4)?

I abused my 955 everytime I went out on it and only rememebr the front coming up a couple of times in the time I owned it.

I reckon at the time I would've been a similar weight to you.

What age was it? They went from 130PS to 149PS on later models. Mine is the last one with the pointy nose and the split front headlight.

Just did a search, yours was the same model as mine http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.p...hlight=Daytona

It's possible that somebody has changed my sprocket. I read on Triumph Torque that it's a common mod as they have a very tall first gear making them a pain in traffic. I find mine really easy round town, don't have to shift into first until below 15 mph. I'll count the sprocket teeth at some point.

If better = wrong then 'suppose. It's a bit like a Ducati that isn't red. ;)

Fair enough I've got suspension that works, lights that work, a bit more power, different gearing etc. I wouldn't want a standard one I don't think.

No neither would I, there are some essential mods, suspension and a larger rear sprocket are the main ones.

How many teeth you added on the rear sprocket then? I am considering it when I do the chain and sprockets soon, what sort of impact does it have on top speed?

:smt016 when I went to look at the 955i I had a choice of the black one or a yellow one both the same price but the black had some extras like the can and bar risers. It was a tough choice though.
Mine was running standard gearing didn't find it bad around town though
