I suspect the cyclist had a broken collar bone and possibly damage to his tibia or fibula from where he was saying he had pain. At least he stayed conscious. I tried to arrange some first aid training for the Soho group but we just could not find an evening that suited everyone. A shame as it is well worth having, especially if it had been one of us having a mishap on a ride out.

I was on that roundabout when it happened right infront of me.....
Am i the only person who didn't sleep last night ?..
I told the other people there to call the police, cos the driver was saying it's the cyclist fault for going too fast....but i was glad it was none of us involved.

Yeah, I hope the police attended. Should have been asked to provide a sample of breath at least. Possibly even driving without due care if they are feeling adventurous.

For what its worth, speed limits do not apply to cyclists, as the statues explicitly say 'motor vehicle'.

One overriding rule applies to all 'without due care and attention', being quite wide ranging it can cover speed, not observing traffic signals etc.
