There are cases of Tesla cars actually accelerating towards large stationary vehicles like fire trucks--

we are in an age of no blame so nobody gets the blame if these things go wrong. the insurance companies will just pay out and hike your insurance premium.

i'm surprised that your not made to sign a disclaimer when buying a new car.

no doubt that will come !

Sore point with me at the moment. My car is a 12 year old (only 16,500 miles ) BMW 1 series basic model ,so doesn't have all the bells and whistles ,but recently flashed warning symbol for problem with dynamic steering control which has been diagnosed as something to do with the steering angle sensor. I didn't even know it had these features but apparently the repair involves the replacement of a switch unit incorporating the steering angle sensor and the part alone costs about £400. I was sceptical about the need for some of these things but I now understand the steering reacts to input by the driver depending on the speed of the vehicle , so at slow speed a turn of the wheel has more effect than at high speed on the motorway for example where a drastic change of direction could be dangerous (or something like that, or maybe I have got it all wrong !)

Thankfully the lane keeping aid on my Focus remains in the setting last selected (off in my case). Used to have it in warning mode which vibrates the wheel but I found it irritating - did not bother trying the "active" setting that tries to steer for you.

Adaptive cruise control makes motorway driving easier so I use that a lot but you need to be wary if some git cuts you up as it really anchors on the brakes if it gets worried! I keep the pedals covered at all times just in case.

And the traffic sign reading is getting better. My current Focus does not spot the speed limiter stickers you often get on European lorry trailers and tell me I'm in a 100mph zone, unlike my last Focus.

DRZ passed it's MOT. Relieved after all the work I've put into it in the past year.

DRZ was one of the peripheral members of Wu-Tang Clan, I believe.
