Re: Is 50k miles too many?
hi guys... newbie here just thought i would offer my 2p
i bought a 30k mile pointy earlier this year (k5 model) only having 1 owner was a big selling point for me even though it didnt come with much paperwork for the history. the way i saw it, if someone did 6000 miles a year then they are gonna keep it running right for their own safety whereas your common low mileage 3 owner bike could well have had minimal services (remember a stamp in the book doesnt tell the whole story) because each owner could have chopped it in before it needed servicing so you are relying on the dealer/trader to service it and we all know that they tend to be a minimal oil and filter (and thats pretty much it) kinda service. at the right price i would take a higher mileage one again in a shot... but be aware that if you change your bike often, you may have trouble selling it on so if you dont like it, you could well be stuck with it |
