Ah but in Germany it is the law, not a guideline, you can get fined and even arrested for using certain noisy pieces of equipment on a Sundays (Ruhetag) in Germany

What gets me is the bin men coming round at just after 6am with a really noisy truck. I'm usually up but most people aren't.

I think what Ophic was saying is that Germany tends to ignore EU rules when they want to and describe them as '''guidelines'........

Got bitten by a squadron of ticks last night.
Ankle now very big and painful. Doesn't feel like the cortisone and steroid cream is doing anything. I have a history of reacting badly to ticks. On top of that the youngest today got admitted to hospital.
Great start to the family holiday!
