Re: What have you tinkered with today?
Bit of Z tinkering today.
One of the Ramair pod filters replaced as I split one through ham-fisted over tightening of the jubilee clip. I also tried to sort out the petrol tank leak. Petrol is seeping out from around the fuel level sender unit. It was loose but tightening it all back down appears to have made no difference. Seems like a ****e piece of design to me for what is a pointless indicator light on a bike with a reserve tap... I haven't even got the damn thing wired in! I also have a bit of oil weeping past the beautiful looking tachometer drive blank. Looks great and cost a bloody fortune but still leaks a bit. I shall live with that and clean off the odd oil drip...;) Mark |

To get tar off paintwork without damaging it, gently rub butter into the tar and watch it just come straight off. Leaves a greasy mark though.

I'll have to try that one.

Worked for the Torrey Canyon oil/tar washed up on the beaches.

What have you tinkered with today?
MT03 - Service, fork seal and MOT prep.
TLR - Make it run properly; done. Fix dragging clutch; no fluid. Identify handling problem; 12psi in front tyre, seized steering damper bearings. Triumph - new rear disc (part of a team effort on that one), investigate electrical fault on same. Continued reassembly of tragic old Kwak 600 and made it live again - runs quite nicely now. |
What have you tinkered with today?
Fitted motosliders. Took 10 minutes.
I'm now rewarding myself with beer. :) |
Re: What have you tinkered with today?
I have just drilled the pilot hole in the Suspension rocker to fit a grease nipple.

Re: What have you tinkered with today?
I swapped my LPH number plate over from my SV to my GS, this required getting a drill, spanner and screwdriver out, which is quite technical for me. I've turned the garage, loft and house over looking for the old SV plate to put back on and can't find it anywhere. If course no sooner have I paid £15 for a new plate it'll turn up somewhere utterly stupid, like down the back of a sofa cushion.
