Does this (in practice) extend to all prenups generally being ignored then, or is it more to deal with those which are akin to "unfair contracts" where one party has clearly attempted to stitched the other up?

As to it undermining the idea of marriage, I have to say I disagree, I don't see why the marital vows (sharing everything 50:50) shouldn't cease to exist the moment the marriage ends? :-s

(Before I get flamed, as I said in the other post, I'm actually the one who'd benefit most from this in my relationship, I only oppose it on moral grounds...)

To be perfectly honest, at this juncture i feel there is no point in continuing this partiular discussion. If you wish to be pedantic/belligerent then good luck with that.

Its just more commonly Husband>Wife.

I really don't know much about it as it was only a little bit of my course but the impression I got was that previously all prenups got ignored but now the courts consider them. Like you said, as long as they aren't unreasonable or if the circumstances of the couple have changed loads since the agreement etc. I guess it must partly depend on the judge, not sure about any precidents.

The way I look at it is that marriage is a contract for life, if you want to break that contract then 50/50 sounds fair enough to me.

You can't call a man a bint, it can only be applied to women.

Yup, but this pointless discussion is based around women having less money than men because they are lazy bints and can't be bothered to work and just want their husband's money. HTH
