Hi guys,

I think I have everything I need to begine the project now. Billy has very kindly provided me with some instructions:

Quote:

Firstly put you bike on a paddock stand or an abba stand is better but not essential.
then you need to lift the front of the bike I used a trolley jack under the engine, If your just using a paddock stand it takes a bit of adjusting to get the bike to balance and you will need some one to steady the bike.
remove the brake lines from the calipers and drain all the fluid.
remove the master cylinder and lever from the clipon.
remove the calipers.
loosen the pinch bolts on the bottom of the forks and remove your front wheel.
remove the mud guard.
now remove the top yoke, loosen the clipons and the pinch bolts on the top yoke, undo the top yoke nut now the top yoke is ready to be removed, you might need to persuade it with a mallet mine was a b*stard to get off!!!
remove the ignition, you will need some torques bits for this.
Now remove the clipons complete with switch gear, this way you have enough slack to get the throttle of with out disconnecting the cables.
remove the horn.
now undo the crown nut on the steering stem, I used a drift and a hammer.
the bottom yoke complete with forks should slide out now!!!
That's the front stripped.

Now your ready to start refitting the front!!!
Start with the bottom yoke, Slide it into the head stock and put the crown nut on and tighten down until there's no sideways play but do not over tighten or you'll bugger the bearings!!
Now fit the ignition to the top yoke.
now place the top yoke on and tighten the top yoke nut.
fit all the switch gearand throttle to the clipons.
Now get the clipons and put them under the top yoke hold them in place with the bolts that fasten to the top yoke.
now slide the forks in and tighten the pinch bolts you will need a torque wrench(i'm not sure of the setting)
Now fit the front wheel.
Now check everything looks straight( ie the wheel is straight and the bars aren't) if so loosen the top yoke nut and pinch bolts on the forks and twist until right and re-tighten.
now fit the calipers, mudguard, master cylinder and brake lines oh and the horn.
Don't forget to use locktight on the caliper bolts!!!!
Bleed the brakes refit the faring and you ready to go!!!!!!!
Is there anything else I need to know? I'm assuming I use the SRAD bottom bearings?! I need my bike most days so I need to get this right 1st time, any help is very much appreciated.

Andy
