As of March 2006, approximately £4.5 billion had been spent by the United Kingdom in Iraq. All of this money has come from a government fund called the "Special Reserve" which has a current allocation of £7.4 billion... And thats up to 2006, i think we can pretty much double that figure to get to todays spending. They may pay the grunts less than minimum wage but war aitn cheap and the Uk will only recoup this money over decades of oil sales out of iraq, plus a very high interest rate of course. Which in turn destroys the iraqi economy for decades to come and keeps them slaves to the us/uk govt banks but thats a different story. Imagine what £10billion could do to address crime - and the causes of crime - instead. |
