TVSF camping IV 14/15th November 2009

So seeing as it was not possible to have a multi choice poll and have a clear decided date, a new one for you.

Winner takes all.

The highest vote wins. In the case of a draw Sarah and Eviltwin have to choose.

YOU CAN ONLY VOTE FOR ONE

Re: TVSF camping IV the (last) poll.

Its a tough decision! I have voted, but I could make other ones

I'm up for any of the 3 last dates in November . I'll vote for the current most popular one......

Re: TVSF camping IV the (last) poll.

Let's go for 14/15 nov then!

When we've got an idea of numbers I can ring up some karting places (if everyone's still up for that).

:-D

Hmm - the app I have been developing for the last year goes live on the 16th. If all is well then I will be fit and ready to party on 15th-16th. If everything goes nips up then I will be working.

Re: TVSF camping IV the (last) poll.

As long as it's not too expensive. One place wanted to charge us £50 for about 4 hours. Ouch.

sarah 28-10-09 06:53 PM

Re: TVSF camping IV the (last) poll.

The place nearest us:

"for £35:
Whether you are a first timer or an experienced kart racer, our open timed race sessions are the ideal opportunity to develop your racing skills. All drivers are provided with a full briefing followed by a 15-minute practice session, then a 15-min break before your second 15-min session. A lap time report at the end tells you how well you've driven! We know you’ll have a great time that you’ll want to do more karting… So we’ve added an upgrade option of an extra 15-minute session from as little as £10 per driver!"

Those add up to similar or worse! I have to say though, I was expecting about that. You have to spend £50 roughly if you want any fast cars and long time really. I am pretty easy going though, whatever anybody else wants.

Re: TVSF camping IV the (last) poll.

BTW I want a turbo cart :D

sarah 28-10-09 07:48 PM

Re: TVSF camping IV the (last) poll.

£35 for 30 mins. Ouch. I'll probably miss the karting as I've done it heaps. Will be up for all party antics though!

sarah 06-11-09 12:08 PM

Re: TVSF camping IV the (last) poll.

Looks like we'll be giving the karting a miss if not many people are interested. Fine by me, more drinking time :-D

Re: TVSF camping IV 14/15th November 2009

Last time I looked, Daytona were doing 60 minute sprint races one Sunday a month for about 75 quid per driver. That's not bad for an hour's solid track time, plus qualifying and practice.

For maximum track time I'd recommend a six-hour bank holiday endurance race at Buckmore Park. A team of six of us did one last year, two 30 minute stints each, and it was great fun despite the torrential rain that flooded the track for the first half - it was like driving on ice, only wetter. If I did it again, I'd do it in a team of three for 4 x 30m stints or four for 2 x 45m. It works out around 150 quid for two hours' track time which isn't bad at all. Anything more than 45m is a bit hard on the arms.

If I can get one more weekend with weather in the 60s and 30s at night my son and I will go. Anything colder is just to cold for a 4 year old boy.
