Now, who's going to sort out AR09.......................

A very very big thank you to all involved in the organisation of the weekend and a very very very big thank you to the Apes, big, little and Mrs for the hospitalty suite and the cargo van. Hope all went well with the RAC.

Got home around 5 ish... stopped off in Salisbury on the way back to see a friend, stopped for coffee, chocolate cake and a good 'ol natter, took me no time at all to get home really, 45 minutes to Salisbury from the camp site, then another hour from Salisbury to Guildford :)

We got home, but we're not safe. After discovering that I can ride swiftly with maria on the back, I'm on the hunt for more roads like those on the rideout.

Re: The 'Home Safe from the AR' Thread.

Got home about 8:45.

Well you see, someone had stolen all the electricity from the battery of the Ape-mobile, so once it had been started by the nice recovery van, and having decided that due to time and location, the Carvery at the pub could be a good idea (and it was), it was about 3pm when myself and BA left Podimore.

Then after we got to Chez Ape, there was a call to let us know that the minbus had misbehaved again, and now the breakdown people were being waited on again, turned out to be a broken throttle cable.

So was later than planned that Vixis and I headed for home...

But we made it back fine :)

Nothing you could have done, and well, you did offer to let us crash again overnight -so you really could have done nothing more - thanks to you and Jo again :)

Besides I think I know what happened with the bus, while we were trying to start it with the flat battery - we let Stretchie near it (and he may well have touched the throttle cable) - that guaranteed mechanical breakdown for sure if Stretchie touches ANYTHING :P

Hehe :)

yeh what the hell happened at the M£ / M25 bit? I was at the front, whi8ch is a bad thing at any intersection, but Chris numbers said "do the M3 its much quicker" so i did... and he buggered off with the rest of ya onto the M25 bit. Baffled???

Not that i'm complainig it meant i had no one to keep an eye out for in my mirrors and could just get on with it and sinc i was the first to arrive at the Ace i guess i did pretty well.

I'm still sitting here in the field waiting for my hangover to go and my tent to dry out. Maybe I just left an important part of my brain there, somewhere in a field in Somerset....

Re: The 'Home Safe from the AR' Thread.

I fixed the non starting bike. Well I changed the battery and it started first push of the button. It would appear the battery wont hold a charge. Either that or the rec/reg is buggered. To be honest I have been bone idle and couldn't be bothered to do any sort of proper diagnosis.

Oh and all your tents are nice and dry and re-packed. 10 friggin tents erected, dried off and re-packed. Me poor back.

You mentioned the clean (not any more it's not*) wet t-shirt in your ruck sack. Got that. Didn't expect the smelly black socks though.

Wet black socks, hence the not any more bit.
