mattyL 28-05-05 10:43 AM

derbybiker 28-05-05 12:16 PM

I'm hopefully going on the Sunday.

Malc's probably right with the 7'ish start time.

If you pop this thread onto the MIGTS board as well you might pick up some other volunteers as well.

mattyL 28-05-05 08:04 PM

good stuff, i'll stick it on the MIGTS too then, see if anyone else fancies coming along.

Well Oiled 29-05-05 11:53 PM

Reckon I'll be going down Sunday morning. Must stay off the beer Sat night.

wheelnut 30-05-05 08:38 AM

Does 7am seem sensible?

Any suggestions on a meeting place would be welcome, either en route or in coalville

wheelnut 30-05-05 09:15 AM

I did an autoroute for a decent route to Burford,

I know there are faster routes, but this is a good biker route, down the fosse way to Southam and then one of the best roads in the UK for bikes to Banbury.

I dont want any Al- Queda terrorists reading this route backwards and blowing my house up :P

ignore the times and costs as they are set up for a fast truck

ophic 30-05-05 10:19 AM

i'll be heading down the Fosse from Rugby on sunday morning - possibility of a meet up?

mattyL 30-05-05 10:21 AM

yeah I think 7am is doable. Its gonna hurt but I think its gotta be done if we wanna get there on time. Maybe we could meet up at the Victoria pub in coalville? Thats a well known landmark I believe. Definitely want to ride down on some decent roads, if we have to motorway it all the way I'll be suicidal before the rideout even begins!

wheelnut 30-05-05 10:31 AM

How about 7.30 at the Victoria and then meet Ophic at Southam or somewhere.

The other alternative would be Coventry, Stratford

derbybiker 30-05-05 03:03 PM

If I'm going to make it on Sunday I can make Coalville for 07:30 :riding:

I've got a Sat Nav so if we get lost I can get us there. Haven't learnt how to programme specific routes into it yet so I'll let somebody else get us lost first....I mean lead the way first

To be truthful I've not used it it anger on the bike yet so I will be interested to see how it performs.

Ohhhhh get you.......

I've got a GSXR so i'll be there before you!! Probably on Friday....

wheelnut 30-05-05 06:44 PM

Do we have a member from Melbourne on here, apart from me I mean.

I have seen a blue SV around the village recently, I will try to introduce him to this site if not. If he stops still long enough.

As for the rideout, As much as I hate being team leader, I lived near banbury, so I can find that ok :P

I can meet you anywhere between Bretford and Southam. I'll be 2 up - but this shouldn't slow me down too much :)

mysteryjimbo 30-05-05 08:31 PM

I wont be coming with you. BUT i'll probably be returning with you.

mattyL 30-05-05 11:58 PM

yep 7.30 at the Vic sounds good to me

Well Oiled 31-05-05 06:55 PM

Hi guys,

I'd like to some along. Can make it to Coalville for 7:30. Haven't been to the Victoria but have looked it up and it's easy enough to find.

See you there on Sunday morning.

Cheers Keith

ophic 04-06-05 01:49 PM

We are leaving Coalville at about 07:30. If you check Wheelnut's route on the first page and tell us where is a good place to meet you then we'll see you there.

wheelnut 04-06-05 05:02 PM

Sorry Chaps, I have been out driving my truck all week, holding Jonboy up trying to get to the airport :P

Ophic, I reckon the new garage on the roundabout at Southam is as good as anywhere, I think its a Total now, it used to be there but it has been altered lately. There is a bloke there who rides an SV too, maybe we can kidnap him :D

7.30 at the Vic should put us in Southam about 8.30 8.45 ish

ophic 04-06-05 08:22 PM

cheers wheelnut i'm sure i can find that. Will see you there 8:30ish :)

i've taken a note of your number, my text number is 07967209577.

You can't miss me i've got blue wheel rims, "OPHIC" across my visor and a pillion with a brightly coloured leather jacket saying "California" (but if it raining you won't be able to see that, of course) :?

ophic 06-06-05 10:21 PM

Thanks for the meet up guys. Was good to meet you all. Hope you had a pleasant return journey.

And Matty, Silv was very impressed with your Ninha

mattyL 07-06-05 01:24 AM

cheers mate, I had a brilliant day, loved meeting all the new people, including yourself and silv. We should all meet up again soon for a blast. By the way never got to ask you what your name "ophic" is about? Is that your last name? See you soon hopefully

ophic 07-06-05 07:18 AM

Meeting up for a blast is a great idea. The only hiccup being that i live up north :(

"ophic" is an old school nickname. Never quite figured it out myself but it stuck.
