Rain stops play!

I have a client's laptop n the bench here for a spot of fettling. They have no backups of quite a lot of important data on it so I was going to ride across to Oswestry to get an external hdd for them. Think it can wait till Monday now as it's peeing with rain and I really can't be arsed with waterproofs and a subsequently filthy bike today. :-(

Don't blame you. It's threatening to rain here and I just know that as soon as I get half a mile from home it will tip it down.

Frustrating thing is that the two days I spent in the garage were warm and sunny.

Same here, stuck at work yesterday, bright and sunny. Off today, but woke up to grey overcast sky and intermittent showers.

The odd thing is - it never actually rained here today. It came really close a few times (sudden cooling, darker clouds, gusty winds) but it passed every time. Spooky really. Manged to get quite a lot of spring pruning done and got the onion sets in after all so on balance not too bad a day really.

There's always Sunday - weather looking OK for tomorrow, according to the so-called experts at the Met Office ;)

Woke to grey skies and rain, where's the sun and warmth they forecast!

Drizzly and grey here too.

Brightening up here, watching cycling on Eurosport, bright sunshine in Belgium. How ironic

Glorious day here. Started it with a cracking 7 mile run with two fellow canicrossers in sunshine a gorgeous scenery. Home, showered, into the bile kit and off out in the sun for a favourite ride. The only rain was this weird torrential 45 second downpour on the way back up Morfa Mawddach and then a bit of drizzle coming over the bwlch from Dolgellau to Dinas Mawddwy. Other than that a lovely warm spring ride.
Sorry Mav!

Had a cracking run to Porthmadog via Nantwich > Wrexham > Corwen > Betwys > Blaenau Ffestiniog.

The stretch from Betwys down to Porthmadog has to be one of my favourite roads ever. Stunning scenery (apart from Blaenau, that is ;)).

Good weather, just a bit of residual run-off water in the odd spot on the roads.

I think you get more than our share of rain Gary.

Still grey and drizzly over on the East coast.

Rain or not I shall have to ride it tomorrow as it's due the MoT. Hope it doesn't rain as it's fairly clean at the moment!

Cold, drizzly, and filthy roads. Bike sailed through the MoT but it was pretty mucky by the time I got home. Quick wash down with several buckets of clean water and it's sitting back in the garage looking better again.
Just need the roads to dry up a bit now.

Re: Rain stops play!

The roads are filthy at the moment. Last weekend's ride to Porthmadog was dry apart from about a 20-yard stretch just past the top of the Horseshoe that had run-off water coming from a field right across the road.

It was literally only 20 yards but because I was following a line of cars at the time, the bike was covered in muddy spots afterwards. It really annoys me having to wash the entire bike down because it spent no more than a couple of seconds on a wet / muddy bit of road ....
