10/06/2008 - Shire Horse

After a tough week last week I could definately do with a lazy evening with you guys. Is anyone keen?

Jon

PS - have added the option of a ride into the poll for those who want to go for a ride first.

The SV is back and is running nicely. I have had to endure the Dullsville for two weeks in nice weather. I shall be there and I will be up for a ride too.

Unless I can get a tyre tomorrow I'll be on the ZZR so not really up for a ride as its still ****ing oil from somewhere and i cant be asked to sort it out at the moment. I don't think I really want to risk riding on this...

Well they are good value for money - Mine were legal down until the last 400 miles or so. Try doing that with a tyre that has tread in the middle!

I'm going to try and break my run of non-attendance and be there! I'm on-call with work, so I might have to dash midway through the evening, though!

If you turn up before 7 you'll get to do a ride first. I aim to be there for about 6:30.

I may not be there in time for a ride - might have to do a spot of carpet shopping before I head up.

Organising 1 day in advance is not preparation. It's last minute booking. Had you booked the tyre the week before, you would of already known it was the wrong size and have been able to get it changed. Or at least Mark could have.

philbut 10-06-08 03:05 PM

Re: 10/06/2008 - Shire Horse

True true. i wasn't expecting the tyre to die quite so dramatically over the weekend. Thought it would be OK until this week. I'd actually spoken to Mark the week before but he didn't have any in so I said to leave until this week. No hard done anyway, I still have something to ride, plus I can get a second opinion about the oil leak from you lot.

When mine is getting close to the limit I always ring Mark and get him to put one on the shelf waiting for me.

Indeed. I'll remember that for next time. I'm going to try and persuade him to give me discount on a set for the ZZR as that needs some now too, or will do shortly.

Depending on whether I get all my festival packing done this by this eve I'll come along.

I wont be leaving work before 6:30 which means I am highly unlikely to be there for the ride. If I'm not, don't wait around for me.

Good to see you again Paul, nice of you to show up! It was fun and warm, my kind of meet. Sorry I had to leave a bit early, I promised the gf that I wouldn't be too long. Thanks for the DVD Tony! I am still trying to get it to work, it seems my codec pack isn't up to the job, just gettting some more...

StreetHawk 10-06-08 09:28 PM

Yep, cheers all.. Nick, is that the dvd of the sunday rideout??

FG1 10-06-08 09:42 PM

Re: 10/06/2008 - Shire Horse

It is from Sunday but, it's only the leg from Benson to Aylesbury. And I was at the back all the time.
It was just a little tester as I have recently got the camera.

Nick, after I copied it I just stuck it into my dvd player and it worked ok. Have you tried it in a normal dvd player ???

try vlc player - http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ it will play almost anything without the need for external codec packs.
