Full or half fairing

Morning all, first post but been lurking for a while. Have decided that my next bike will be an SV650S. Most of them seem to be half faired, but the latest sport ones have the full fairings and some earlier ones had them fitted as an option. Question is this:

What are the pros / cons of full versus half faired - given that fully faired bikes cost more year for year?

Thanks

No pros to full fairing, just more crap to take off when you need to service it. It is looks and only looks.

I love my half faired one, but it still presents issues at times when trying to work on the bike. However, in my view, it looks fantastic and I prefer it over the fully faired version anyway. May consider a belly pan though.

Full fairings can write a bike off by insurers as they cost £400 new.
More things to damage when/if you ave a spill.
More things to get dirty.
Don't protect anything in my opinion.

All cons :)

Only pro is if you like the looks. :D

As my bike, when i bought it was half faired and i liked it that way but...
I picked up some lowers and now they are on i prefer it faired, finishes it off imo.

Full fairing do this when you come off and make you go on the impossible hunt of finding another pair at a decent price

Stay with half faired and put the belly pan on - but only cause I can't afford any lowers

Shell, can you imagine the damage if they were not there?
I know my rad wouldnt be bent if i would have had mine when i took a tumble.

Suppose, I know my crash bung saved alot. But is a radiator more cost than a set of lowers LOL

Nice bike with or without and at 120mph who can see it :smt101 not that I would ever go faster than the speed limit

Lowers won't save any damage at all compared to a set of motosliders.

hhhmmm, no one has mentioned that lowers stop a little wind chill and rain compared to none.
