TVSF Camping weekend. Are you going to be there?
 

So now we have a date and a venue.

Date: 05-07th June

Venue: Park Farm

Only question left is if you are going to be there. There is no need for advanced payment but advanced booking is advisable. So how about a rolling 'I have booked' thread. Add your name to the list to confirm your attendance and that you have booked. Banter chat for this event can be found here. Try to keep this thread clean from chat. :wink:

Oi Stig, I have a lovely three man dome tent with your name on it if ya want? You don't even have to share with me (i'll be in the green palace like last year). i'll bring to the next meet if you want to borrow it as there won't be room for me to carry both. It is currently in a bag designed for one of those folding chairs so not too big.

Well assuming I have a lift to the Shire and back next Tuesday week and assuming said tent will fit into a small ruck sack, I will say thank you very much. Will it have a chain splitting kit in there as well? :wink:

1) er small rucksack probably not, as it is kinda long. I will measure it or get a pic tonight and let you know. If not, I'm sure we can sort something.

2) Yes, the tent comes complete with chin riveting tool (minus spring, I still haven't got round to finding one).

Roughly what size is the spring. We have a selection at work so I might be able to lay my hands on a sutable one.

Spring is about 40mm in length by 5.5 - 6mm inside diameter.Outer diameter not exceeding 7mm. Looks pretty flimsy, a bit like the sort you find inside a pen. If you have anythign suitable mate that would be brilliant as springs aren't an easy thing to come by apparently.

Si - the tent is in a cylindrical bag, 8" diameter by 3 foot. you could repack it in to a different bag so long as you have somewhere for the poles (about 2' long at a guess)

Being that this is now less than two weeks away, has anyone started making plans for the trip down to the campsite?

It is a 2hr15 min journey door to door from maidenhead using the boring motorways or maybe we could do a more exciting route.

I have taken the afternoon off work so that I can make the journey during daylight hours etc. Is anyone else planning on making the trip in the afternoon also?

I was planning on leaving straight after work, 4.30pm on a Friday, perfect for the rush hour!

I'll be going from Windsor, route undecided if anyone is leaving around this time. I hadn't thought about the route to much yet.

I have taken the rest of my life off work (until I find another job)So I'm free for an afternoon ride down. Prefer not to start from Maidenhead though, we are going South right? I haven't even looked where it is. :)

Between royal Tunbridge Wells and Hastings, yeah south east.

I'm just gonna motorway down after work I think. Will consult with the wife but I think I want to work till 4ish I guess.

Although I have been lurking, I'm am now defo good to go so I am taking a half day on Friday and trying to book the campsite at the mo. I say trying, as nobody picks up the phone or rings me back if I leave a message!

I just sent them an email and they sent a quick note back saying that they had booked me in. Seems fairly informal and as there is no deposit required I would not worry too much.
