Re: the safely back home thread
Mm me and my bro got back a minute ago, absolutely drenched. Was going to camp but our waterproofs aren't very waterproof and i doubt it's going to stop raining anytime soon!
The rideout was brilliant though, although the rain started at about 4. Have some pics for your viewing pleasure. Ride-out start point. http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f2...e/P6290283.jpg First stop. http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f2...e/P6290286.jpg Second stop. http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f2...e/P6290292.jpg Lunge, with a touch of Wiltshire arm swinging, or chest beating. http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f2...e/P6290293.jpg Lunch stop. http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f2...e/P6290297.jpg After that I didn't bother taking pictures as we only stopped at a petrol station in Shaftesbury, then it started raining. I hope everyone enjoys the rain.... |

Re: the safely back home thread
Just made it back home :D Glad to report my waterproofs are exactly that, just need some waterproof bootz and gloves now :D
Saw Dan at a petrol station on the A303 and then again on the M3. Also passed Falc and his support vehicle on the A303. Absolutely F***in brilliant weekend, rain last night and today dampened the ground, but not anyones spirits. Ride was great, was brilliant seeing so many bikes, just when you thought everyone had arrived at a stop another 20 bikes would show up :D Off for a warm shower now :D Thanks to everyone who was involved in organising everything, it was brillian, thank you so much!! |

An awesome weekend, thanks to all involved in organising it, rideout was brilliant and meeting everyone and catching up with people was great and really made the AR what it is. Couldnt believe we got so much sun on the ride out day just a shame the rain came on the Saturday night and today but got back alright.
Saw Stu on the way home as well as James (Rigor), hope everyone else gets back well. Pics soon. |

Re: the safely back home thread
I'm back safely, after riding through a thunderstorm complete with lighting and hail. I have bruised forearms from it, it was the worst weather I have ever had to ride through.
I had a truly brilliant time at the AR, it was very sad to say bye to everyone. I met loads of really nice people and I notice some went that I didn't even see so sorry about that! Huge thanks to Fizz and Viper and the team for the excellent rideout route (what was the name of that villiage with the castle we went through?), perfect facilities, and top notch organisation. Also thanks to Si and Jo for their amazing hospitality and to Mark for his whisky. Hope to see you all again really soon, lets have another trip soon! Oh yeah and thanks to Gordon and David for the food, those burgers were lovely! |

Re: the safely back home thread
Made it back to London in a bit over three hours - and didn't really get wet, which was good :)
We had a really fantastic time - thank to everyone who obviously spent so much time planning and putting this on; and hi to everyone who talked to us, it was a great weekend. Nantwo (Terri) was so chuffed to see a photo of her with her pink leather jacket she has printed it out already to stick up in work. Thanks again for a great weekend. |
Re: the safely back home thread
made it home a while ago, just been having a shower and relaxing a bit after also seeing torrential rain and the worst conditions i have ever ridden in i think.
massive thanks to all those who organised the event and made it a superb weekend. brilliant rideout route, great location and great company. great to meet those i did and sorry to those i didn't say hello to (i'm just not very good at meeting new people!!). really enjoyed myself, shame about the weather and here's to all meeting up again for another quality AR next year or sooner!! :D |
Re: the safely back home thread
Back home safe. Was sunny & dry for Josh & Me after Yeovil all the way home.
Thanks for a great rideout & everything laid on at the campsite. The weather all in all was pretty fantastic too! |
Re: the safely back home thread
I'm home. Unfortunately Jo & the little apes are not. The mini bus broke down. Throttle cable snapped. She's expected home within the hour now though.

Re: the safely back home thread
Me, Im Indoors YC and Miss YC settling in to a nice cuppa, got home at 4.30...Mel waved bye on our junction. Nasty standing water and torrential rain in places on the way home, but hey its AR weather!!!
HAd a super weekend, thanks Fizz, and all who organised it. The BBQ was superb, got some nice piccies for later. Nice to meet up with old friends and new, and we all had such a good time, dunno about the rideout, but our chilled out day at the site with Rictus and 21Quest, Mrs Ape etc was really nice and relaxing....bunch of plane spotters too. |
Re: the safely back home thread
Back home safe and sound, not too damp either.
Great weekend, a bit of rain can't spoil it. |
Re: the safely back home thread
Sid Squid and me back in London... got drenched after leaving the camp site on the A303. My bike didn't like that... it got over it though :D
|
Re: the safely back home thread
Home. Everything except my boots are outside drying out. The boots were the only bit of clothing that kept the rain out.
Great ride Saturday, heartfelt thanks to ALL those who put so much into the organisation of the 2008AR. Have a drink on me :-) |
Re: the safely back home thread
\\:D/\\:D/\\:D/
I'm home and clean now. How I love running \\:D/hot water. A truly fantastic week end - thanks to all the organisers and indeed everyone who turned up, either in person or spirit, to make it one of the best Annual Rideouts I've been to. Messie AKA Sally:flower: PS I'm actually really shy, but I managed to overcome it a bit for the week end ;) |
