Saturday 25th July ride-out to the seaside.

Right then. Weather looks OK. If I get enough interest I'll run it as a ride out.

Start 08:00 Blackbushe airport carpark <here>
Route - Heading to the Devon/Dorset coast for brunch (possibly Weymouth)
Distance 200-300 miles depending on how lost we get
Style - wiggly - mostly fairly sedate.
Fuel - start with a full tank. We'll stop every 100 miles or so unless anyone wants to tow me.
Return - I'll be heading back to Fleet/Basingstoke area for early afternoon, you of course can do as you please.

Anyone starting from further south could be collected from the hilltop diner just before Salisbury at about 09:00. It's changed it's name a bit over recent years (Venue, Haven, hilltop) but it's on the top of the hill shortly after the A343 becomes the A30 just after about the only bit of dual carriageway. Unless of course you are approaching from the south in which case if you get to the dual carriage way, you've gone too far.
<Here>

General GM ride-out rules are:-
1. No prima-donnas. It's not all about you.
2. If you are late, you'll have to find us en-route.
3. If you ride like a **** you'll be asked to leave the run and not join us again.

Attendance + pickup point:-

1. Mark_H - Run leader - Blackbushe

See rule #1!

We'll probably get on the M3 at Jct 5, down to the 303 then off at the Salisbury turn off. Then wiggles all the way from there. Could do a rolling pick-up at one of the 303 services but given your track record on tardiness (see rule #2) that may not work. Maybe best going for pickup point at Hilltop with Spank and Co.

First proper weekend of the school holidays and you're heading for Dorset on changeover day. Good luck guys.

My parents are down this weekend and much as I'd like to go with you lot instead Lady Poppy would not see the funny side of it.

Would like to do a ride out at some point but I have the same sort of problem as Sir Trevor, mine is my son's 16th birthday on that weekend.

Will you be doing something in August?

Should be the lightest change-over weekend of the hols. Plus I tend to find the roads less travelled. El Presedente has arisen and will be starting a new list. I'd sleep with one eye open fron now if I were you.

But the smoke screen saves you so much money in speeding fines.

It's slightly cheaper than unleaded round here right now so you'll be quids in if you head towards Bucks.

Well..... those of us that made it had a decent time. Mostly dry roads, very little traffic and a beach full of scantily clad young ladies. What's not to like.

Also spotted were a shop selling lost children and a layby where you could get fresh cherries.
