'Bad Ass' Police Cars...

Walking home from work and they've set up an ANPR checkpoint on one of the busiest roads in the 'diff. Obligatory white van snapping all the cars that pass with a selection of South Wales' chubbiest hanging about looking quite sheepish.... apart from this ::

http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/e...I-MR-FQ-40.jpg

Exact same colour, exact same alloy's, sitting on the side of the road waiting to pounce. Got themselves a cheeky little LCD message board in the back and some proper Miami Vice style blue/red lights in the back window.

One of the younger, chubbier coppers looks at me looking and say's, and I quote : "That's a sick office isn't it".

"err... yeah, I guess it is Orricifer"

Anyone else know of any 'sick' cages the Fuzz are employing to tackle the miscreant's of todays society ???

I can't lay claim to seeing most of these. I have only seen the BMWs, Giant SUVs, Dodge Chargers, Chevy Camaros and a few others. I just did a google search and thought it was funny. Sorry for image sizes.

Re: 'Bad Ass' Police Cars...

The stupid thing is that if a chase ever reached the sorts of speeds where those sorts of cars (except the Hummer) make any difference over the standard police fairly brisk Volvo selection, then it would probably be deemed to be endangering other motorists too much to give chase. Why they spend the tax-payer's money on these things I have no idea.

Re: 'Bad Ass' Police Cars...

most are just a pr exercise, they never actually go out on patrol. i've seen properly livered scoobys and the like, but tbh they're only around the cost of a decent ovlov to buy...

in america they also seize vehicles from the crims...

I believe in the former Czech Republic, the police can seize a car then use it for their own purposes. I once saw a picture of a 996 Cabriolet with Police signage.http://newsimg.bbc.co.uk/media/image...orsche_203.jpg

Though this copper must of been having a bad day:

Was done for a publicity stunt. This car isn't the police's and isn't used by them. Just a lambo with stickers.

Are you nit-picking?

gettin2dizzy 28-11-07 10:36 AM

Re: 'Bad Ass' Police Cars...

Yes, nit-picking like a cop ;) Although to sound like a copper I should have said:

'The details relating to the registration document present for your vehicle in question contravene the required spacial limits between 'said' characters. Failure to adhere to the act imposed upon by the constabulary breaches the agreement entered upon with the resultant action of immediate amercing effect'

They love padding sentences out with jibberish in my experience ;)

No fear of that one. Although it'll be instantly on your ass, on ANY bike, it will only go a few hundred meters before it'll break down.

Failing that, just go round some slow tight corners. Loves high speed, loaths low speed.... ;) Watch it go straight-on into a bush.

Nahh, im into cars ;) Was reading the reports from the initial tests and also the very much failed track day at Goodwood. Had people on the car forums attend, get close and personnal with the cars etc...

But i did watch TG. Generally i don't listen to Clarkson in any way  But you could physically see the car understear at low speeds.
