Silver seems to be a particularly popular one - so a quick poll should help us find out which colour Sv is to be avoided at all cost........

Well it was supposed to be SV specific but any other bikes are also worth thinking about especially as a lot of org'ers have other forms.

the 2 crashes which i have been badly hurt in,1pillion,1rider were both on suzukis(though not sv,s).
on both occasions the colour of the bike was.........

Dirk man, tempting fate doesn't scientifically exist. I could post here whatever I liked and it wouldn't affect my chances of crashing, I think it is an interesting thread. Chill! :)

Yes it is another one of those type threads and a bit of harmless fun - I saw the 'Who hasn't crashed yet?' thread and because of not wanting to tempt fate I didn't reply and then a week later crashed anyway, so the point which Warthog makes well is - it won't affect you what-so-ever.

Did people on bikes never crash before the forum then???

Plus if you feel that strongly don't read or post in it.

I do however think I should have read the 'Don't drive to Chiswick on a Tuesday morning if a woman in a Silver Audi A4 is late on the school run and it's raining' thread................D'oh!

It's one of those things, you think you're going to crash - somehow you will find a way to crash.

The only purpose this thread is serving is to put the thought that, "I've got a [popular crash colur] bike, I hope I don't crash" to the front of your mind.

Crash, CRASH!

If fate doesn't scientifically exist, then comparing notes is irrelevent - there'll be an equal split of colours (based upon most popular colour to buy) and this thread is meaningless. Hence unnecessary.

Perhaps the title should be, "Most popular colour SV to own/have owned" and everything else is superfluous.

Most of the bikes I have ever owned have been black. Apart from the ones that were not. :wink: The ones that were not black I have not crashed, apart from the silver Bandit. And all the black ones that I have owned have been crashed. Except the Gixxer I had. Never crashed that. Unless you class dropping it stationary as a crash.

So now that I have totally confused everyone including myself, I voted black. :lol:

Well copper seems to be the safest as it's not even listed as an option ...
However my own statistics disprove this theory ... twice.

i think tempting fate is pushing it abit, it is a basic piece of statistics, which are made on much larger scale covering many bad things that 'could' happen to either one of us

when i see these statistics, including mad ones about x number of thousands of americans being sent to A&E due to bedding related disasters every year (dont ask me how), but it does not make me any more likely to go and choke on my duvet :brilsmurf:

I crashed my YZF 750 a few years ago. It had a lovely blue pink colour scheme. I was searching the web for the proper name for the colours but instead I found this quote from a dealer;

"Ever seen one with the "Fruit Cocktail" paint job?think one of Yam`s designers was exploring his feminine side when he came up with that one.I was a Yam dealer several years ago and we`d just got some new 600 Diversions in,hard enough to sell at the best of times then because everyone was buying Bandits,they were in a kind of dark pink colour"How the f**k am I supposed to sell that?" I thought."

In my defence I was exploring my "I'm too tight to buy a 'blade and they're giving these things away" side.
