AGV Stealth or Shoei Raid ll ?
On ebay I can buy;
1) AGV Stealth St George for ?140 delivered. or 2)Shoei Raid ll for ?158 delivered. I've only tried the AGV on and it did fit nicely. But my question is... is the Shoei significantly better? |

However I would question buying a lid on Ebay. |
Re: AGV Stealth or Shoei Raid ll ?
I appreciate the concerns about buying a helmet via ebay. I'll only consider it from a dealer with good feedback.
I've also seen Vemar VSR EV advertised locally reduced from £180 to £90. I had a Vemar many years ago and it was a great helmet so I might try to take a look at it. |
Re: AGV Stealth or Shoei Raid ll ?
I've got a Raid II, it's great apart from the lack of a removeable lining, which makes washing it a pain. HTH

I like the Stealth St George! There is the skulls in matt that they do of the stealth, rather like um. ?110 in the skulls :)

Re: AGV Stealth or Shoei Raid ll ?
I`ve got a stealth and tho i love the look of it i`m not happy with it and find it uncomfortable.... the problem i`ve got with it could maybe be female related but I find the front of the helmet around the chin and neck is just too wide and it`s causing me problems when having to turn my head to look for traffic etc. I`m gonna go back to a Shoei

Re: AGV Stealth or Shoei Raid ll ?
Don`t think it`s too big.... it`s a tight fit and the lining is so tight around my face that it pushes my cheeks up!
It just seems to be the front of the helmet around the chin is so wide that as I turn my head its really uncomfortable. I`m quite bent over when I ride cos my arms are short and i have to lean over to reach the handlebars. When I turn my head sideways my helmet is hitting my shoulder. |

However, I had a Shoei Raid II and it was a good lid, but for the price I reckon there are better out there, so as people have said ... go for the one that fits best ;-) |

tea all over keyboard now. I have only had a Shoei and not had any problems, can't say about the AGV as not had one. |
Re: AGV Stealth or Shoei Raid ll ?
Can't comment on the Raid, though I currently own the AGV-Stealth and my previous lid was a Shoei Z-1.
Personally, Shoei inspire me with more confidence safety-wise, though that may be their price tag or marketing that is influencing me more than anything else. Certainly the Z-1 was a more pricey helmet than the Stealth. Otherwise, I'm very happy with the Stealth. Good helmet for the price IMO. Slight downsides would be an easily misted visor (FogCity soon sorts that though) and a slightly sore forehead if I wear it for very long journeys without breaks. I went for a matt black one - fits with the name after all ;-) - and use a silver tinted in the sunshine. Even if I look a tit I get a stupid boyish feeling of being a fighter pilot, though hopefully without the Top Gun latent homo issues  |
Re: AGV Stealth or Shoei Raid ll ?
You could always wait until the big people in charge do the testing thing with all new lids and go for the best protection. Not sure ho wlong it'll be thouhg but I'm sure Bike said it wouldn't be that far away. Sort of like N cap for lids.

At the moment I'm leaning towards the Shoei because of the pinlock visor, although I've never actually used one before. Many thanks for all of your responses |
