5th August Ride to Aber

Its me b'day, more importantly I have time off work and the missus is at work so I am a free man for the day :)

So I spoke good old Baph, we came up with a proposed route, but it could possibly be subject to change http://tinyurl.com/63sg58

The idea is, meet up at the Ponderosa at about 9 ride these two wheeled things that we own and then let Dave get off to work for 3. I want to be home and tucked up on the sofa for about 6 anyway as I'm having a barbie that folks are welcome to come to :)

Re: 5th August Ride to Aber

As we said off the forum, this maybe a bit of a downer, given a weekday ride, but you never know.

The route is slightly amended to shave off a couple of miles in favour of more twisty roads (always a good thing IMO). Also means I'm not so pushed for time getting to work.

I don't really see the point publishing the updated route though, the above one gives a good enough idea. I'll update nearer the time.

Basically, the idea so far is leave Ponderosa 09:30, get to Aber, have some lunch, then I'm sodding off North to work, and Plowsie will be heading back to the A5/Northampton area.

Hmm, I'm off work too... :-k

Count me as a maybe for this one, depends how much cash I've got left by then really. :(

It'll be an early start to get to the Ponderosa for 9.30 though, and I think you've got to come a lot further than me Plowsie!

I'll probably be passing BYC sometime around 8-8:30am. If times match, and you're tagging along, you can lead to Ponderosa to demonstrate those Bikesafe skills :)

T'is a couple of days before I do my Bikesafe course.

Re: 5th August Ride to Aber

Bad news on this unfortunately. Work have royally shafted me over shifts, so now I'm working the morning of the 5th. :(

If you guys still want to do the ride, feel free to use the route posted above, or amend as needed. Just don't let plowsie lead, as he has a history of missing even marked junctions.:smt019

Apologies, I've tried to get out of it, but it's just not possible with time off for BikeSafe etc. :(

Dang, Will have to cancel this, as mentioned I have no clue with routes unless it is plumbed into my brain.
