RAF Northolt Airfield Drving Day
 

I have just found out that RAF Northolt is having another one of their track days.
I am not sure if Joe Public can attend but I will ring on Monday and see what the crack is.
At the moment it is £70 with Lunch included.
The date is Saturday 26 July.
If you are interested could you please add your name to the list and when I get more info I will post it here.

OK, I have just been in touch with the man that knows.
The good news is yes, the public are invited.
What you have to do is get an entry form to them or turn up on the day but if not pre booked you might miss out depending on numbers.
I will go to work and print out an entry form, they are only on the RAF Intranet, and fax to those interested.
Can I have fax numbers of those interested.
Darren, I can drop yours accross if you like.

Tony's going to drop one off to me so I can get some copied and meet at the ace tomorrow or Wednesday night for those without faxability if you like. Or depending where everyone lives I could do the rounds during the day or post them. Any chance of a max speed run down the runway Tony? :)

What about Spectators as it's and RAF base do we need to fill out an application form or can we chance it as "Tech Support";)

Darren they do go down the runway, infact somebody last year trashed it on the turn off from the runway and wrote the bike off.
Saed, I'll meet up with you and get you in if you have problems. I'll sort it out for you nearer the time but there will be no problems getting in.

Haven't got a fax number to hand though, and I'm in Norwich tomorrow and Wednesday, and Belgium Friday to Monday, so wouldn't be able to get to the Ace for a briefcase-swap.

OK, I think the link is iffy cos it's on an RAF site. I will take a handfull to SOHO on Friday and hand them out to all interested. I will also take some to the Shire on Tuesday.
If anybody can't get to either of them let me know and we'll see what we can sort out.

Belgium may be shunted back to Saturday, so I should be able to make it to either Soho on Friday or the Shire on Tuesday.

What do you get for this - is it just a chance to tear up and down the runway, or are there some bends involved ?

There are bends involved. Last time I did some marshalling and the corner I was at was very interesting. Quite a few overcooked it and had to use the run off.
It normally uses the perry tracks and roads joining the main runway, oh, and the main runway.

I won't be doing this cos I look after the kids on a Saturday as the wife works. I will however be there to watch and mingle amongst the orgers.

OK, I have a few forms to dish out now.
They should have been in by 11-7-08 but I spoke to the guy organising and he said it should be fine handing them in late.
It says to enclose a cheque for £70 so, to speed up the process, if you fill in the form when I give it to you and fill out a cheque I will hand them straight to the guy organising it asap. This will take out the risk f delay if you post it back to him.

Just a reminder that I will be taking some forms to Soho tonight. I could drop at the Ace if anybody was desperate, so to speak.
