I watched this at lunchtime, bloody funny throughout:lol:

Re: Russell Brand offends America
It's about time someone confronted the Yanks rather than fear the religious wrath!
It's funny when they get British 'humor' because they like Monty Python. That was slapstick, and you're more likely to get a slap rather than a laugh if you repeat any damn line of 'The Life of Brian'! |
Re: Russell Brand offends America
love it.. marvellous...
is this going to be a Jade Goodey upsetting india repeat, only with brand and the USA? |
Re: Russell Brand offends America
I don't usually like Russell Brand, but fair play to him.

Re: Russell Brand offends America
Hehe the USA can't take a joke! Ali G greatly offended them when he said he was sorry for their loss with 7/11 hahahaha

Well no wonder they didn't get the joke.... Sadly...That's more truth than humor. Bush is a retard cowboy. :smt045 (and the worse president in US history) Quote:
Haven't been to the states lately, huh??? Free speech is dead in America. Nowdays the Politically Correct rule. Can't say anything that might even possibly offend anyone....that goes for the once ruling "religious right" as well. Your religious beliefs are bound to offend someone. Can't make jokes about the president either without raising eyebrows. Saying anything in public that's not politically correct is frowned upon...if not banned. And will cost you your job no matter if you are a big star or a jaintor. They call this "The Land of the Free".... but what is free??? Certainly not free speech....not anymore. And God knows they are not talking about healthcare!!! All totaled.. my get off and broken collarbone will cost me enough to have bought a new FJ1300. Ouch...now that really hurts. :( |

Re: Russell Brand offends America
Am I the only one who doesn't find it funny? The guy is supposed t be a comedian, yet what he said isn't funny or even that clever - Just having a dig at Americans and you lot lap it up as "real British humour"??? I don't think so.
Why is it that the British have such massive chips on their shoulders? ps. I am British |
Re: Russell Brand offends America
Russell Brand has a bit of a snipe at GWB et al at a celebrity reach around session? Quelle surprise! The shock. The horror.
No, 'fraid not. Russell Brand == still a bit of a tosseur. Steve Colbert on the other hand, gets into White House Press Corps Dinner, and, face to face, for ten minutes and completely tears him apart in front of his people. "Everyone knows facts have a liberal bias"... and then starts asking Bush if who he wants whacked. Legend. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BSE_saVX_2A |
Re: Russell Brand offends America
Al Murray... Now he is funny. Dont really get Russell to be honest. :( Dont get me wrong some of his stuff is very amusing, but a lot just seems silly.

Re: Russell Brand offends America
Russell is an aquired taste admittedly. But once you understand his humour or manner he's great. Until then, he'll just drive you up the wall

Not to worry. Offending the Yanks makes him funny, though now no doubt the majority of Ham shanks are going to be planning the invasion of Britain... No offence to any Americans on here, this is what I understand from working with some of you, there are the odd good ones, lets hope you are one of those  |
Re: Russell Brand offends America
Is brand not just a messed up, sex mad ex-junkie?
just jealous |
Re: Russell Brand offends America
There was a mention that his hair is a rats nest. Well, this is incorrect. According to "my bookie wook", the hair is, infact, a mouses nest....but the mouse ran away.
I don't particularly like russel brand....but good on him for annoying what could be one of the more annoying nations on our little planet |
Re: Russell Brand offends America
He needs to get out of bed earlier before going on stage....
Jumping out of bed and straight on stage does nowt for your image, neither does it give you time to have a shave or do your hair, plus the humour part of your brain gets stuck on snidy and offensive until at least 2 cups of strong coffee and four hours warm up HTH Russel. |
Re: Russell Brand offends America
I love Russell Brand.

I think his humour is seriously twisted. In fact, it's probably why I like it so much!

Re: Russell Brand offends America
He can be funny, when he wants to. Very good brain in there somewhere, but he does keep it well hidden.

Thank you ThEGr33k!!!! Certainly we are in the minority but.... Not all Americans are the same. (read stupid) And it's painfully obvious to those of us (Americans) with a wee bit of intelligence that the rest of the world (Including most in the UK) have no idea what life in America is really like. The image that most people have/percieve of the US is based on TV and life in the big cities like NY & LA, etc. And of course when people travel to the US where do they go??? The major cities. If I had to live in a major US city or act as those people do.... I'd have to move!!! People who live where I live seldom agree with or even like "city folk". Granted while the image the world has fits the majority of Americans...... It generally ****es the rest of us off to be cast in a lot with them. :p EDIT: Note that I am offended here and hope I have offended none as well. I think the average person (not in the US) would be shocked at what life is really like for those of us who live in the rural areas of the US. At least where I live. This section of the US was settled by Britts and Scots and many people from the UK still immigrate to this area today. Here is a pic that may surprise some... From a rideout in the nearby town of Bedford in Virginia. (Virginia was Englands first colony BTW) Note the two flags fixed on every lamp pole. http://cenvachristiansportbike.homes...edford_VA1.jpg Detail of flags: http://cenvachristiansportbike.homes...edford_VA2.jpg |
Re: Russell Brand offends America
even the wather is just like England!! LOL> TBH if i was to move to the states it would be somewhere up around Virginia , New England, Hampshire way. As rightly or wrongly i imagine its more like the UK ?
Would never move to LA or New york |

You'd be right. While it doesn't rain here quite as often as in England.... Yes life here in the small towns and out in the country is much like the UK from Virginia north through New England and also in the mountain areas of western North Carolina and eastern Tennessee. Note: Big cities in any state here are all the same as are most of the people who live there. |
