whats in a forum name.....
 

seen some some straight laced names and some crazy names on the forum and i always wonder where they come from and if there is a story behind them...

for instance id imagine BlueSv650S has a blue sv650 s (i may be wrong!) so is straight forward....

but then u have "pencil shavings"...there could be a good story behind that or it could be completely random....

so lets here it..ill start...

i was once part of a hip out outfit called Pillage....we used to meet at a music studio every tuesday straight from work...they were all drivers/manual workers so would arrive in caps/baggy jeans etc....

I was a recruitment consultant so arrived fully suited and booted....they started calling m e dapper dan.....became dappa dan....become dappa d and been known as that fot abt 10 yrs now.....

I fall into the category of straight laced... My first name's Josh and the first three letters of my surname are mac, so joshmac :thumbsup:

When I first logged on, I couldn't think of a name, so I thought oo am a diizzyblonde..now everyone calls me Dizz, which I don't mind at all, I've grown to like it :-)

I used to be Sythree on here, cos I live in postcode area SY3, but hardly anyone understood it so it's much easier to use my first name and then everyone knows who I am:D

My forum name is straight laced but also has a story behind it.
My last name is Speirs. My nickname at school was Britney that's why some people refer to me as Britney on here as I let it slip on NW4. :)

Years ago while the Levellers were touring my work colleagues that I now work with were Crewing the shows. Including the band there were 5 people called Mark on the tour so they decided to call eachother by their last names and put Mr in front of it.

To this day everyone calls eachother Mr (Surname) regardless of their first name and so I became Mr Speirs.

Got called the Nick the greek at 6th form (my name is Nicholas so Nick) after Nick the greek off of Lock stock and two smoking barrels. I decided to use TheGreek on the net in a game but it was taken so it mutated into ThEGr33k.

When I bought my SV I looked online for info as you do. Found this forum and signed up. Didn't realise at the time that the username you sign-in with would be your forum name. :rolleyes: So unless I start all over again I'm stuck with my initial and surname.

ok, it started with trying to get a hotmail account. everything i tried had been taken, so being a keen fly fisherman i settled for Bibio which is a black and red fishing fly and a very good one at that.

Mines just an evolution of my name, Brett, the -us got added and it has since been extended by a work colleague to "Brettus Maximus" his deep voiced answerphone messages are quite funny now, he always starts with that :)
