Recommend an Xbox 360 game
 

To give you an idea what I want:

COD4 has to top my all time favourite.

Oblivion has been excellent! Always a reliable coaster whilst playing COD4.


On my potential list

Tom Clancy's Endwar.
New Bond: Quantum of Solace
Left 4 dead
Farcry 2
Fallout 3
Gears of war 2

Anyone played any of the above?

Gears of war 2 is quite good. End War was a bit odd for my liking. Left for Dead has bad graphics but is hilariuos whe played with mates, it has a real "fun" factor to it. Not quite as good in single player mode though.

If you haven't already got CoD 5, World at War, definately get that. Best game of the year.:-D

I found Gears of War 2 far too slow and similar to the first. I would say Fallout 3 is worth a punt. or there is the obvious choice... World at War.

Gears of War 2 or The force unleashed. I'm waiting for Prince of Persia to come out (only a few days left to wait) The trilogy on XBOX was great.
Far cry 2 might be good as well (got it but not played it yet) as the original was also good.

GoW2 is okay. The story is much better this time round and the graphics are sublime. That being said this game still lacks substance and after completing the game I was left feeling "So that's it then?". The online Horde mode is brilliant though and of course there is online co-op to get through. Overall it's an 7/10 from me, certainly not worth the scores in the mags/online.

Fallout 3 is by and far one of the finest video games I've ever played. The level of detail is mind boggling, the story is incredible. It puts some people off as it can seem to be a slow paced game at times but believe me it's well worth the asking price. It has moments of pure genius and several times I've been blown away by how clever it is. It's worth a play through at least twice as you have the whole good/evil choices but to explore the whole map will take you around 50+hours. A must buy.

Dead Space is another incredibly great game and one that came as a surprise to me. I cannot emphasise how underated this game is. It blows most other survival horror games out of the water. It is genuinly scary and has made me jump many, many times. The atmosphere is spot on and you never quite know when you are going to be attacked next. It has a perfect difficulty balance (played on medium) where you have just enough ammo and health to get through but still at times you are wondering how the hell you will defeat the 6 mutated zombie creatures coming at you! The graphics are amazing, one of the best I've seen on the box and has some really cool zero-g moments too. Worth a few play through to get achievements. A must buy in my book.

i played farcry2 on my friends ps3. awful. after 20 mins i was bored.

I have it on the PC and I've played it for about 3 hours. I wouldn't say it's boring but there are many other games that are better. The story is supposed to be great once you get right into it though.

if you do get into far cry be prepared to spend time doing everything. its not instant gratification (except for starting large bush fires with molotovs) but the story is superb and the graphics are jaw dropping!

Call of Duty 5 is good, not sure it is as good as Cod4 though, the gameplay I kept waiting for something interesting to change or the scenary to stop being Green Green Green.

Fallout 3 is just incredible, you either love it or hate it. I hated it at first until I got into it and started to appreciate what it is really about.

Awesome :) I've heard it's pretty scary stuff. Not scripted that you know when someones going to jump out at you. But scripted that you don't!

I was told to pursue with oblivion. But it was wank!

Well damn, they must have turned the settings right down on the console because I still think the half life 2 engine on the PC is one of the nicest looking game engines about... that doesnt kill computers (Crysis).

You played Fallout 1 and 2? If not you should. If you like fallout 3 story you'll love the origional! The origional has something 3 hasnt, and imo 3 loses something with the change of perspective and game machanics :(

Have a search on Play, You can get Fallout 1,2 and tactics (only for PC :() for £6.41! give it a go... for that price you cant go wrong! :D :D

P.S. If your computer can run Windows itll be able to run these, so no excuse for not buying :p

I was in Game on Saturday and after I got over the shock of how much acne a person's face can hold I asked the assitant about Fallout 1 & 2. He looked at me like I was Grinch. Sheesh.

Will be having a look on Play laters. Cheers Greek but do you think my system can cope? :p

It depends on if you are running 1 copy of it or 20,000 copies of it :p

It is wierd that they havnt re released the first two games for people who are interested! Hmph.

If you arnt sure about the combat system (it is a little old school) just give it a chance. :)

You'll learn about the true Super mutants in the first game and the true Enclave in the 2nd one. :twisted:

cod 5 is ok... best if you got mates who are playing it. i just got tomb raider for my ps3, aint played it yet though. apparently far cry 2 is bit pants and the first 1 was better (a friend who's manfriend has it told me). dunno bout GoW2, not played it

Far Cry 2 is ok. But Farcry (the origional, which only came out for the PC) was better yes.

oh yeah and my mate got quantum of solace...had a play ; imagine rainbow 6 but without the squad, and cross it with the bourne game they bought out. i think he's taken it back or traded it in. i didn't see any bond gadgetry either (bit like the film).

+1 here, just finished Dead Space on the PS3, superb game, loved it. Looks sweet, good story and helped that i only get to play games late at night and its a good one to play in the dark!

I enjoyed Tactics. True it isnt the same as the other's but it was still pretty cool in a way. Shame there wernt any cities or anything... just missions :(

I loved using Super mutants in Tactics. How cool is it that they could fire a 50 cal 45KG machine gun (M2 browning)!?!?!? :smt040

Battlefield is cheap cheap in the pre-owned sections now too. May look for it later. Never got good reviews though.

the one-player game isnt as long as i'd hoped, but the story is good, its challening enough. Try a copy - me and my mate have brilliant fun on it...i havn't read any reveiws of it. My brother did have it, wasnt good at it so traded it in...but now he wants it back.

Dead Space looks really good, I just read the IGN review. I shall be getting that this weekend :smt040

There's an (official) patch which ups the time limit in 1 to a more reasonable one IIRC.

FALLOUT 3. No competition there.
It's a massive game with so much to offer, hours and hours of gameplay, different storylines and endings and huge map with excellent graphics.

Haven't been able to get in to fallout 3 yet. I got bored by the time I'd found the bomb. Too much naff dialogue.

just been playing ninja gaiden 2 amazing game really bloody tough though so some bit's get frustrating but it's lasting me a lot longer than the normal shower of poop we seem to be getting only about £12 now aswell bargain.
