Gift ideas for around £20?

Im looking for some essential gift ideas for about £20 tops. Stuff that a new biker would need?
I know its an awkward amount of money.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

You'll get ****e ones on your budget.

One of the first things I bought was a Fog City insert to stop my visor steaming up.

If the rider will be taking a pillion the triboseat idea from above is a very good one. The best £12 i ve spent on my SV since i bought it.

if they have not got a haynes manual that would be the biggest help IMO. but then i never had an owners manual so i dont know what was covered in there, but the haynes has been a godsend for £20!

That's why I tried to say one specific tool or a small range. For £20 surely you could get a decent set of allen keys :smt102 And if the alternative was to use an assortment of allen keys left over from Ikea flat packs  just think how much that would be appreciated.

I'd say a necktube

Is the giftee mechanically inclined, or do they have the spanner twirling ability of a poorly trained daffodil?
If they are of the grubby-fingernailed persuasion then I'd say a haynes manual would be good.

You won't get many tools for £20, I know bergen-man round here was selling rails of 3/8ths sockets for £15, but I'm not sure how good they are.

Don't go for the budget ranges of tools, it is seriously worse than nothing when a tool breaks mid-job.

Furry dice. Can full of petrol?

Actually, I think the Haynes manual suggestion's quite a good one. Too much bike stuff's personal taste really, it's hard to buy things for people. Or vouchers I suppose but I hate buying people vouchers.

Magnum 08-12-08 01:31 PM

Re: Gift ideas for around £20?

The gifts are for me, people are asking what i want, and i want things that i will need for a bike.

Ive gone for the haynes manual. £19 from ebay.

I'd like some tools also, but i don't know what sizes to go for. Even if someone just buys me one or two tools for the £20, its something less for me to buy later.

I think britool make a small 1/4 drive socket set for about that money.
