Christmas eve - at work/in the office

Good morning org'ers.
I hope everyone is well and good.
So I'm just wondering who is at work/in the office on the 24th?
Also are you here on a serious days labours or have you a work family day thingy?
Just curious to know what the whole work to holiday rate is on Christmas Eve as all my mates are on their holidays, luckey f€ckers!

Finishing at about noon, if I can get away.
Saying that, the phone has rung twice since half 7, so would love to get away earlier, being a shop there will be no chance tho :(

In the office as always and dead as a Wet SV! Its a family work day type thing so there are kids running around all over the place, except on our floor as its where all the developers sit and the IT bods! Will probably bugger off around 1ish i reckon

Ah ha you see, everyone wants things supplied but they don't seem to want us round banging 10 shades out of everything and making as much noise as possible putting the new one in over the festive week. ;)

I is in too, but so far we have chatted about nothing much, have deleted some emails and am likely to spend the remainder surfing the tinterweb.......probably going to leave around 12:30. nI am also still sat in my bike gear as didn't see the point in a change of clothes for a few hours of sitting around doing nothing much!!!!

Re: Christmas eve - at work/in the office

At home just about to go to Christmas lunch at my in laws.

We used to celebrate Xmas twice, once on Christmas Eve, in German traditional style and as normal on Christmas Day.

But they've got fed up with the hassle of it all, as my brother in laws kids can't behave themselves, so now its just Christmas Day.

Although today is just lunch, no presents, which is a shame for my kids as it used to spread Christmas out.

Now its over in a flash of wrapping paper :p

One good thing is we won't be having carp for lunch, which is their traditional xmas grub. Not turkey like we have.

And I do mean carp not cr*p ;)

Can I go home now please? Seriously, I've read every thread on sv650, I've caught up on all my Register articles, I've found a goodly quantity of Monty Python clips on the Tube.

I'm really running out of things to keep myself occupied with whilst waiting around on the off chance that someone wants an MPLS network designing in the next four hours.

Finished here too, all done and dusted at 1pm, not back until the 2nd! Another benefit of being on restricted duties and working in the office!

Re: Christmas eve - at work/in the office

I finished yesterday (10-12, yes, 2 hours with a cracking hang-over) and go back on the 5th. Today I was mostly riding the bike like a loon and finishing my shopping (taking advantage of the sales and a few contacts' generosity!).

Hope all those that are working are having an easy day.

Regards
Phil

Re: Christmas eve - at work/in the office

Was at work for the morning, left at 12.30 having done naff all apart from eat mince pies. Left to get last present (town was heaving!) and then picked up a hire car that I've got til Monday (cos the starter motor decided to go on my car yesterday ). Booked the cheapest, a bloody Fiat Panda, and ended up with a free upgrade to a top of the range Megane :). Now drinking Sloe Gin and watching Top Gear
