Over Zealous Car Driver...

This morning while waiting at the lights in Kennington SE London, so stupid toss decided to somehow move off with me and ended up smashing into my numberplate.

I hear a crack, and look round to see the plate, hanging by the lighting wire, that is attached to it.

Slightly raged, with a little Red-Mist descending on me...I told him what the F***, and a few choice words then rode off to FWR Ltd, to get me some replacement screws to screw the plate back on.

Luckily, for some reason he managed to just pop the holding screws, so was quite lucky there.

rant over...back to work.

Silly bugger! At least it was a cheap fix mate. Should have maybe got their details, what if you now have a puncture or bent wheel?

Dappa D, only a shadow from the Athens Sunset :p, and yes it could've been worse.

vardypeeps, Didn't think of that...but the ride seemed ok finishing off journing to work.

Will check on Saturday as new rear tyre will be purchased. :smt038

To be honest think i would of said he did some damage to rear tyre,
that way you get a new one free of charge, and next time the turd will think about what he's doing because it could of been a lot worse!!
Glad it's all ok though mate.

I know...looking back at it, should've made the most of the situation, but the red mist was upon me - so wasn't really thinking about getting his details to get a new tyre and new rear can of of it ;)

but in all fairness, at least it wasn't anything else more serious.

I noticed a puncture when I was within 50 yards of FWR - I ended up riding 2 up with a flat through the City @ rush hour to get to Essential Rubber - thats how much I would avoid FWR.

Go to Essential, they may cost a bit more than FWR - I understand FWR heavily discount tyres, but Essential is VERY worth it - I have had 3 sets of tyres on 2 bikes from them. I have also rolled up there twice thinking that the gleaming pieces of metal in the tyre might be all the way through for them to pull them out, check they tyre over and send me on my way without asking for a penny dispite having taken 10 mins of their time.

My, FWR (whoever they are) are in for a pasting tonight. No apparent reasons for this hissy fit...

Reasons have been posted before Ed, but in summary, while I have never had any work done there I was behind Rictus when the new chain he had fitted and had taken to FWR to be riveted broke at the rivited link a couple of days later.

It was while sitting with him waiting for recovery he told me about the time they didnt bolt his front calipers on after they changed a tyre for him, and he had to turn back at the 1st set of lights to get them to bolt them on.

Add this to that while Essential will let you have a good nosey at what they are doing and answer questions about what they are doing (looking at my brakes wont be so scary now) FWR do all the work out of sight and you are not allowed in th workshop area - or at least I have been told that about FWR.

Just checked these lot out on Google Maps, so all is well, and now I can see exactly where they are.

Thanks SoulKiss.
