might be worth at the very least replacing/&upgrading the fork oil. Think about progressive springs too while they're out.

Re: wooo got some forks!

Chompy, didnt you find and advertise some on here for ~£100? Just wondering why you paid £150 on ebay if you had found some others.

Re: wooo got some forks!

I think I got my hagon progressives for £55 from a link on here and don't know how much oil is. You'll need to find a suitable weight oil for your body weight though.

suppose but it'll be a right pain in the **** taking them back out again to do when you knew you've had them out previously. I'd beg borrow or steal as I know I'd never get round to it if I left it. You might be less lazy though!

my brothers a mechanic (bike) so he can do it for me, plus we have a lifting thing in the garage for the bikes :D, its the metal hooks attached to the ceiling for the punch bag but we hook the bikes on it to do work to the front end if we need to. should be ok, my brother can do it for em passing out in the RAF

Re: wooo got some forks!

get the oil right for your weight and they make the front end how it should be when the bike leaves the factory

Re: wooo got some forks!

Best asking someone else but everyone swears by them. I'd only ridden on standard forks for 2 weeks before snapping them but they were quite wallowy and I can't tell if I've got a bit more dareing or if the springs are to blame for my chicken strips thinning. The bike feels really stable on corners just pot holes (ever been to sheffield??) are a bit rigid. I think my oil might be a touch heavy though.

Re: wooo got some forks!

dunno I'm somewehre around 12stone and have 15wt silkolene pro in. 10 stonesish I've heard 12.5wt hagon oil is good but I'm not the most knowledgeable pup.

Someone did a thread somewhere on different brands not labelling their oil thicknesses properly though, might be worth having a read.

im just under 12 stone, so that should be ok for me i guess.

Dave20046 24-03-09 11:19 AM

Re: wooo got some forks!

yeah, altohugh I don't think they sell 12.5wt so it's a case of mixing 10 & 15 to suit.

chompy 24-03-09 11:21 AM

Re: wooo got some forks!

ill probabaly go for 15 , it depends how bad they are, im defently going to change the oil tho but not defently the springs untill i have more money
