It's cos the dad abused the deaf lad and thats why he's deaf - he went to find out the answers and Liam (the kid) tagged along for whatever reason.

That's nearly as bad as me. I've got 15 episodes of heroes to watch saved on sky+
Can't really be bothered watching them, nothing ever happens. It's turned in to Lost. I gave up on that too because it was moving too slowly and they were getting no where
