What do you want to know about it? My sis lives there, her boyfriend is an estate agent, so they know the area quite well. PM me if you want, or ask me the next time you see me at a meet.

Haha. That thread's even funnier since half the posts were deleted than it was at the time.

Double-uber-LOL.

Move to Oxford.

Re: High Wycombe...

Couldn't do that - people keep pushing bikes over....

Have however just peered at a place in Slough. :smt104

Next stop Maidenhead. Hear it's a bit noisy on Tuesdays but as I already have ear plugs....

Actually I lie - next stop Northolt. Then Stanwell. Then Maidenhead.

(working my way up to Wycombe - there's a song there somewhere)

Saw a nice flat in Maidenhead on saturday. Best so far... next stop Burnham then Osterley.

La la la.

Almost as boring as my bike buying thread.

Edit: Made it to High Wycombe on the R6. Met a small urchin. Apparently the local skate park's OK on a BMX. Bonus.

Edit2: Met an elderly WI lady in Stanwell -
Me: Do you get much noise from the planes
Her: Pardon?
Me: DO YOU GET MUCH NOISE FROM THE PLANES...

Hi Sosha,

I've been in Wycombe for 7 years now. It's Ok, nothing special with good and bad bits; same as anywhere else really!:D

Train and bus links are OK if your Oxford or London bound, otherwise its a trip into London and change. Try getting to Bracknell from here as an example:(

New Eden centre is alright, big cinema, bowling. There are plans afoot for a snow dome (but this is a long way from certain). Leisure facilities aren't bad, a new leisure complex is on the cards soon. Close proximity to M40, M4, bikes allowed in bus lanes, big open park areas, some woods, Chiltern hills are close, some nice roads, still have grammar schools, a few good pubs (not too far from the Shire), a few good restaurants, the usual take-aways, supermarkets, a hospital, etcetera. You get the picture, right?

Not a bad place really. Same as anywhere else, once your front door is shut it's home!

Hope this helps,

Regards

Rich

ha, I think that was possibly the most useful response to this thread. In other words small town England then! I knows it well.

Re: High Wycombe...

Why have a good train link to Oxford, when you can just live in Oxford!? :jocolor:

It's to keep out poor people like you :-P

If you think Oxford is expensive, you need to look at the prices in the Chilterns. There are places around Beaconsfield where a lottery winner couldn't afford anything.
