Weekend is Pencilled out for the AR - so unless something major crops up (Deaths/Weddings/etc...) I'll be going! :) (Will be loosing my AR virginity too! lol)

Also made a post a while a go seeing if people wanted to make a bit of a convoy down - so I'd be up for it :)

Was out playing in Essex yesterday and found some nice fun roads that were very nice - and I am sure that the locals know even better ones.

Was almost like a mini-AR in that there was a wide range of bikes and abilities there, from an L-plated CG125 to an CBR600 with restricted SV's, unrestricted SV's and of course my Z750s in between, and that the pace was one that everyone seemed comfortable with.

So, book the time off work, borrow a tent and get yourselves down here (well there - I'm a whole 50 miles away :p)

I'm definetly not going. I go every year, but count myself out of this one. I'm off to GM II in Scotland...not to be missed!

Would have to check arrangements nearer the time, but I think we would be aiming to do that too.

At this juncture, I have no plans to go this year. Will be taking my usual week off for touring but unlikely to turn up.

I'm oing, haven't read any of the ar threads but it sounds like there may have been some controversy. I need to double check the "mischief policy" to make sure I don't get into any serious trouble :)

Is Ploppy going? DaveP you've gotta go mate, you'll miss my burlesque dance routine

You've obviously either never been to Essex or just haven't found the right roads.

For this years AR I am able to confirm that we'll be turning both left and right (at different times obviously); going up & down hills (see previous bracketed comment) and riding at speeds varying from 30mph to <rest of paragraph deleted : anti-self-incrimination software has prevented the rest of this message being typed>

Seriously, if the only thing holding you back is that you think the roads are not up to your standard, then there's no way I'm going to be able to persuade you otherwise so have fun with whatever you decide to do instead !!

Re: AR09 anyone going?

what's with all these southerners in our pennine massive section?! only jokin guys

all I know is the following:
  • I've never been to an annual rideout
  • I had a seriously good/hilarious time with badger, ploppy lee, davenumbers, andybrad - ALL of the guys at the hardy bikers rideout
  • I've yet to do a decent trip away on the bike
  • the idea of getting drunk in a field with a shed load of like minded bikers is ace (especially the guys & gals who I've met but not had a drink with yet)
  • I don't know anything about the politics of the ar09 apart from all the threads in the AR section were locked at one point - not a clue why but I don't give a shizzle...
If I have a remotely good time, I'll be chuffed. It's one weekend away and a chance to explore a bit of the UK which I've yet to visit. I'll be there unless I catch tomato flu or whatever all the fuss is about :)

That, my friend, is the best summary and the best set of reasons I've yet heard.
As many have said, the more the merrier!
