Chavvier than a chavvy thing in Chavesbury :)
LOL! Nice job :) BTW surely those speakers are unwanted weight on the track? |
Re: Not A Bike but my track toy :)
Cool build thread, nice and easy.

or is it the other way round...... |
Re: Not A Bike but my track toy :)
Two possible routes from here...
1) Fit an external battery cut-off, engine fire extinguisher and catch pots 2) Uprate the brakes (braided hoses, ventilated disks, decent pads) 3) Remove spare seat and unnecessary navigator 4) Get a race license 5) Have fun Alternatively..... 1) Fit tinted windows all round 2) Fit neons underneath 3) Fit an exhaust that sounds like an elephant farting 4) Race the other chavs round the one-way system on friday night 5) Wrap it around a tree while trying to overtake a Volvo T5 |
Re: Not A Bike but my track toy :)
Not bad for a corsa. Can it keep up with an sv?
See if it breaks down and it needs towed, where would I attach the tow rope? |

i) let her sit in the :driving: seat for the first session 'cos if she gets :smt088 in the spare seat you'll spoil the whole day. If you get sick - that's just tough!! ii) encourage her to go out on her own. Driving together just causes arguments, especially when one partner always thinks they know best!! iii) watch out, she might be smoother than you and that means better lap times!! :smt045 iv) buy her a race license class for her birthday :smt077 |
Re: Not A Bike but my track toy :)
P.S. Watch out for those stone walls on the hill climbs - as one of my mates said, "you hit the wall, and it doesn't even bother to shrug".

Re: Not A Bike but my track toy :)
i'm intending on our first outing being at knockhill but just not sure when yet as most of the track days i can attend are on a friday or saturday evening when im working :(. Still quite a lot to do to the car anyway but i will get there and i will have Lisa driving it on her own at some point :)
|
Re: Not A Bike but my track toy :)
Looks like a nicely executed job - but I had my head in my hands at the badboy bonnet! Shame on you!
Still I bet its great fun on the track with 160hp :) |
Re: Not A Bike but my track toy :)
164 bhp ;) haha. Yeah i know about the bonnet, my old bonnet was a bist rusty and this one was done for my ex gf's corsa which she crashed half way through the bonnet being done, cost me rather a lot of money to do it for her so decided to have it finished and used on my car :) so not really my taste but was handy at the time, i'm thinking a carbon fibre one just now once i have some cash :)

Re: Not A Bike but my track toy :)
Just sold my Mazda RX8 PZ today. Not exactly a track toy, but was a fun car to drive. Would loved to have taken up to Knockhill for a weekend, but being it was a company car don't think the boss would have been too chuffed.

Re: Not A Bike but my track toy :)
Weel done you for having the time, dedication and the know how to do it! What Honda part?!
|
Re: Not A Bike but my track toy :)
Yeah, well down Stoneyginger! You'll need to let us know when your track day is, so we can come up and watch!
|
Re: Not A Bike but my track toy :)
i refuse to pay for things i can do myself ;) i was meant to be going on the 25th but that is not happening as funds are a little low this month :( and the car needs new front wheel bearings so i'll get that done maybe next weekend, i have use of a bearing press anyway :)
|
Re: Not A Bike but my track toy :)
Nice, looks good mate, you should take it down to Santa Pod, see what it runs the 1/4 mile in?
|
Re: Not A Bike but my track toy :)
i'm taking it along to crail Sunday coming for the 1/4 mile on a non magazine day, not into all that max power stuff. Anyone fancies coming let me know. The car did a 14.8 second quarter with all the standard trim and weight so im expecting it to be a little bit quicker this time.
