Org'ans Dream Team

I participated in a FREE dream team league last season and thought it would be good if we set up an internal league for the org. So using Barclays Fantasy Manager Org-ans Dream team has now been created.

If you aren't already playing the game then you can register at http://fantasy.premierleague.com

Once you have logged in and entered your team, click on the 'Leagues'
link you can find on the left of the page. Now enter the code
315498-76446 to join the private league.

All points etc are calculated by the game throughout the season and you can keep on top of transfers and per season results on the same website.

Remember its all free to join, any questions just ask.

Enjoy the game.

New teams, i'm sure, can join at any time during the season. Just that they will not have scored any points from how many match weekends they've missed.

Sorry, they can join the game but not into the mini leagues, If its the same as the Sun one it locks people of out the mini league at the end of August.

hmmm not so sure that's the case matt. pretty sure you can join any league at any point, but you only score points in that league from the date you joined

Maybe it was a setting then that the admin of the mini league I joined set up in the options. or it may have reached capacity, all I know is one lad off the football team couldnt get his team joined into our mini league after he'd spent his £5 on a team... nice.

Anyway if thats the case and its a setting/option then I'll be leaving our open for anyone to join anytime although seems a bit daft after the start of the season.

am i getting this mini league and the sun mini league confused then?

right, now you gave me a tenner.....

lol, I did both this one and the sun one last year. This ones free and the sun one costs.
I've set this one up as a giggle unless you want to put a AR2010 pint on it mr D?

But I was basing my theory of a lock down on the Sun Mini League I was in from last season, sorry if I confused.

But the publicity of putting this thread back to the top of the new posts link has worked cos we've roped in RichT :D

Re: Org'ans Dream Team

great stuff! :)

just signed up...

Im snipers gunners :)

Im in afew minds about afew players... Barry, but will he play enough. Ireland, yes but not for 9mil, Arshavin - he is going to do it this season, but will he be better than Lampard or Gerard?

And I would like to offer some free advice to new people playing the game. The aim of the game is to pick players who score the most points. So while players like mascherano for liverpool are quality players, they wont score goals or create goals, there for wont get many points. Also look for players that have wrongly been clasified. Look at Nevil for everton, looks like a great buy for a miderfielder who scored so many points. but the reson he is so cheep was becasue he was classed as a defender last year and got 4 bonus points per clean sheet, he will only get one point now as a midfielder, so best to avoid him really. Arshavin for arsenal, classed as a midfielder but will probably play a more forward roll, getting more goals/assists, but geting the 5 points for a midfielder scorer rather than the 4 for a striker. plus the clean sheet bonus which strikers dont get :)

have fun, any questions ask, this is my 4 sesons. my best rank was my 2nd season when at one point I was 5000ish out of 1.5 millions :)

:salut:

one more tip for new people...

you can only play 11 players per week, so make sure your other players and are cheep as possible and play as many minutes as possible. the best way to do this is to buy people from the newly promoted teams as they are the cheepest.
the best way to do this is to look at the player stats from the championship last year.
If you are playing a 4-4-2 formation, you will have one sub keeper, 1 defender and 1 striker. Ive already done the reserch so I will share.
Birmingham were very good at not conceeding goals. my sub defender is from b'ham, only 4mil and will play every game. midfielder, wolves scored freely last season, but none from the midfield really. b'ham couldnt score many really, but one player who was at arseanl was massive for them, and plays in midfield, definatly a great buy IMO. strikers - wolves take your pick, good striker who used to be at reading or the championship golder boot winner.

(im not giving you names this time, looking for the stats yourself will help you throughout the season)

oh another tip... check the fixture list. For instance, there are afew teams not playing in game week 2. Also important to know is that these teams will play again later in the season, meening teams will play twice in a game week, with players that play in both games getting lots of point :)

Re: Org'ans Dream Team

ok, basic notes for first timers, more basic than before (as I guess they werent that basic)

The aim of the game is to score points. There are afew ways of doing this, some arent as highly rated as others. Every player that plays gets 1 point, and gets an aditional point if they play 60 minutes or more. Defenders and goalkeepers get 4 bonus points if they dont conceed a goal. Midfielders get 1 bonus point for not conceeding, strikers get none. Goalkeepers get a bonus point for every 3 saves they make during the game. So if the 'keeper coceeds a goal, but makes 6 saves, he will still get you 4 points, which is why some of the keepers from weeker teams make a great buy.
goals. for scoring a goal, 'keepers and defenders get 6 points, midfielders get 5 points and strikers get 4 points. this is why it is very benifical to have players in your team who are wrongly classified. Example: Zhirkov, they new russian at chealse. he has been classed as a defender, but is more likly to play on the left wing. He will get all the bonuses of being a defender in the game, but will be more likly to score a goal in the actual match. Arshavin is similar, clasified as a midfielder but will likly play upfront.

assists: if you player sets up a goal, they get 3 points, regardless of possition.

So to sum up, you need players in your team who will score goals or get assists. defenders that score goals are especially valuable, such a Lescott (although I think he is too expensive)

the last way to get points, are bonus points, they are awarded to the best 3 players on the field. with the best players getting 3 points, the next geting 2 and the thrid best getting 1. Have alook at players like Gerard, 35 bonus points lat season, massive. players who control the game, usually midfielders, get bonus points even when they dont score or get assists, which keeps your points ticking over.

ok, building your team.

you can address it in 2 ways, score goals, or keep clean sheets. if you want to have an attacking team, you will probably play a 3-4-3 or a 3-5-2 have cheep defenders and goalkeepers (costing between £4mil and £5.5 mil) and then a powerful goal scoring midfield and attack.
deffensive teams will have expensive defenders and keeper from the top 4 clubs and play a 5-4-1 formation.

to get 50 points a week (which is doing good) you need all 11 players to play 60+ minutes (22 points) and 5 of the to achive somthing (clean sheet, goal, assist etc)and then get bonus points.

if someone dosent play, your subs will come in. subs should be player who play at least 60mins a game, but dosent cost much money. so look for players who are from the less good teams.

I hope that helps.

(I should do this for a job :) )
