Abersoch 21st March (Sunday)

Early notice.

Am thinking of a rideout from here to Abersoch via Bala (brew stop) and Porthmadog, back via Harlech Barmouth (brew stop) and Bala. A Barmouth 2 really. Yes or no?

Date to be decided but early in the season, probs end of March for when the clocks go on an hour, the snow has gone and we have a bit more daylight. Just thpought, w/e of 27 - 28 March is no good, prior engagement. Will have to be a few weeks before I go to Spain in the week after Easter.

SO that would be 20th/21st March. Thoughts?

Best check your tyres before setting off then! ;)

I might come, but I'd need to check my bottom-end before setting off, not just tyres ;)

's fine:D but you miss the Tanat Valley and the ride over the Berwyns with the two hairpins:(

Peeps - I've put it on the 675 board too.

Re: Abersoch

I'm showing interest as well, will most likely meet you at Shrewsbury services as usual for the Tanat Valley part to Bala, but then avoid that bit on the way back and depart on the return leg up towards Bala.

No, it will be better:D We are going down the fabulous Lleyn peninsula. Just wait for the A487:D. It's a good bit further than Barmouth, so be prepared for a longer ride. Will need to be reasonably brisk:D

Peeps? Can peeps do Sunday so poor Mike can get to Cardiff?

I've asked a few peeps from the 675 forum, will consult there too. One bloke was coming from Plymouth...

Either day should suit me, I'll put my usual caveat on it though (weather permitting) but sounds awesome. looking forward to this, the first one of the season was a corker last time (the Barmouth one I was counting as the first, might be wrong though)
looks like a good route, glad of the map, I can't visualise it without googles help anymore :)

Not commiting, but will let you know nearer the date Ed. Both routes look good. It depends on weather, whether me and Lily are free and if she wants to go pillion or not.

Easter and Mothers Day are getting in the way of MESS and the Afghan ride-outs. 7th March is the EAR spring ride-out.

Tested the water with my mother over Mothers Day today and got a "you mean you won't be coming for dinner? Your Sister is coming over!" kind of hurt puppy eyes combined with sheer blackmail type reaction, followed by "well it was only an idea Mum", followed by a big smile and "so your coming for dinner then...". Grrr...Women!

Then this evening tested the water with my wife over Easter Sunday, and I won't repeat how that conversation went, but suffice to say I almost got my laptop thrown at me along with words to the effect of "you and that bloody forum!!"

So I've told her that if I can't get out-to-play tokens for 14th March or 4th April, then I AM GOING on ride-outs on the 7th and the 21st, and if she doesn't like it - touch s#1t!

Panto style;

"Oh no you didn't!"

What colours has she picked out for you to re-decorate the entire house in then?

Pete ;)
